"I contacted Omar about a job to repair a section of drywall in a kitchen that was damaged by a bathroom leak, and then to paint the entire kitchen ceiling after the repair. After taking a look at some emailed photos of the area, Omar provided a fair estimate - less than the most expensive estimate I got, but more than an estimate from another handyman. Omar was very responsive in providing the estimate within 24 hours, and also was able to start the job within 1-2 days after agreeing on the estimate. On the day, one of Omar's crew members, Benevicio(?), showed up on time, confirmed what needed to be done, and then began covering all of the areas with tape and plastic protection from dust and painting, as well as covering the floors between the front door and the repair area with drop cloths. He did what was needed to repair the sheetrock, and then painted the entire kitchen ceiling with the paint that I provided. He was careful to avoid contact with the walls, since we discussed that I didn't have paint to repaint the walls, only the ceiling. As other reviewers have mentioned, B. took care to protect the areas from dust and paint - covering all the walls, sealing off the open kitchen with a plastic divider, covering the floors, and wearing shoe covers - which I certainly appreciated. And, he was conscientious about clean-up after the job, to try to leave the work site as he found it. The job he did with the drywall repair and painting was also top-notch. I've had a number of sheetrock repairs done in our home, and this was one of the more flawless repairs - it's almost impossible to see the joints between the drywall patch and the original drywall, which is difficult to make happen. I appreciate the attention to detail and skill, so I won't hesitate to call Omar agin."

"It went well. Before he came on board we had hired another mason to do the job; that mason was not prepared for the complexity of the job and he left after seeing the entire scope of the job. Eric came in, took us through the process, and stayed to see it through. We hired Stinebaugh Masonry while we scrambled to address this dangerous situation. He and his crew squeezed us in by working Saturdays and Monday-Friday from 4pm to dark after working already-scheduled projects. When the wall was carefully being taken down there were many moments of high stress for us (afraid that the stones or perhaps the entire wall would fall). Throughout it all (and the process took almost two months of afternoons/evening work) Eric kept us apprised of what he was doing, when his crew would arrive and what to look out for. In the end the façade was removed, the structural rubble wall built, and the marble replaced and anchored so that it will last another 137 years. Eric and his crew are very professional. He honored his word; he and his crew were punctual, polite, and respectful of the residents and tenants living there. Our tenants appreciated his communication and protection of their living areas, while scaffold surrounded the building exterior. The team cleaned up the site and ensured all were safe: passing pedestrians, parked cars, and incoming and outgoing tenants. Dare I say that we spent far more on this project than we wanted to spend. This wasn't Stinebaugh Masonry's fault, but the nature of the complex job. Eric was generous with his time. Eric kept track of every hour his crew worked, and the hourly wage for his crew (even paying overtime [since they were working other jobs]) was in line with another bid we received. This is the second time we'd hired Stinebaugh Masonry. We would enthusiastically recommend Stinebaugh Masonry and their work without reservation. The hourly rate he quotes will be the rate you receive. He is also very good at giving ballpark prices that are right on the money. Everyone we dealt with, from salesperson Farah and her supervisor Meghan, who took us several times on different days through the warehouses to look at the many granite types, gave us samples to take home, and eventually wrote up our order; to the workers who pulled 5 or 6 slabs from a stack to enable us to choose the two we liked best for our project; to the templaters Ege and Adam (hope I got their names right) who accurately measured our kitchen in preparation for the fabrication; to the unnamed artist who gave us a couple of nice options on how to cut and lay out the five pieces of granite required to fabricate our counters from the two slabs we chose; to the fabricators that did a fine job of cutting and polishing the granite; to the very competent installers whose names I have forgotten: all were highly professional, courteous and responsive. They answered all our questions and did everything they said they would, exactly when they committed to do it. And the price was very fair and reasonable for such a high quality product and installation."
