"They have done very good work for me.  I have used them several times and they do good work. I had reset the toilet and put the washers in the wrong place, so the tank was not holding the water.  They diagnosed that very quickly. It was still cheaper to do it this way than to reset the toilets. I am capable of resetting the toilet but I am not too capable of reassembling the toilet after it has been reset. I am now because I have been educated after that experience. We had more basic problems at one point. We had problems with connection of water supply. This is a house which was put together by a corner cutting contractor so there are little things that could go wrong all the time. It was clearly a corner cutting contractor and that's why we have a problem with the toilet downstairs. All the other problems around the house have some how been remedied but that toilet.  It is a critical toilet because you have to go two flights to get to the other toilet. They have taken care of that and many other issues. They come out every time. I have replaced the carpet with tile downstairs. At 2am in the morning water was seeping in through the entire downstairs family room and I called another company who told me that they could come at 7am in the morning if I want. I hung up with them and called Mr Rooter and they told us they would be here as soon they could get a truck. They diagnosed the problem and repaired it. If I had relied on the other company I would have had a foot of water in the basement rather than just a few spots. Mr Rooter came out on the spot and they got rid of the problem permanently. It makes sense when some one comes out and does something useful and promptly and that's what the other company could not do."

"

One of our bathroom sinks had had a slow drain for several years. We tried pouring chemicals down and snaking it, but nothing worked. Enter Flow-Rite Plumbing. Our technician tried snaking, as well, but finally attached some bladder thing to the faucet, and essentially blew out the clog. The sink has been draining well for almost a year, and we truly couldn't be happier.

"Whoever Nick sends to work at our house has always figured out what needed doing (and not more) and been able to get it done quickly, surely and cleanly. In this case we had just at our water main changed which cause sediment to clog fixtures and kill water pressure. Chris gave us the good news that a replacement fixture and part was all that stood between us and square one----and he fit us in the next day so that we could go out and buy the kitchen faucet we needed."

"Lou and Bryce showed up at the time that was discussed. Lou was very polite and professional. He gave us his professional opinion as to what was happening. Last year, we were told by another company that our leech lines had collapsed. Since replacing the leech lines was not an option due to county regulations , we could have been looking at replacing the entire septic system. If we would have had have a new septic system, it could have costs us between $20K-$30K. Lou said he couldn't be sure but he could surely find out what was going on. He called Aaron, he brought out a back-hoe the same day, dug up the area between our septic tanks and distribution box and discovered it was the line between our tanks and distribution box that was clogged solid. We, also, found out the leech lines were working fine. They pumped both our tanks, dug up and replaced the clogged line, put a riser and lid on the distribution box and refilled the hole. We've lived in our home 3 years and have used 2 other companies when we have had issues. Hopefully, our septic issues have been resolved for a while but if anything new arises, we will be calling Aaron/Andrew's Septic."

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Lawrenceburg, IN

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
