"Hired Bay State to take out my old bathtub and shower and replace it with a new walk-in shower. Fabio, the installer, and Daniel, his helper, were excellent! Very professional, efficient and took an eye sore of a bathroom and made it a gorgeous place to take a shower in now. From the beginning, everyone I dealt with were friendly, helpful and professional. Jim, the design consultant, helped us decide on what we wanted and how we were going to get it accomplished. The owner, Jen, was helpful in explaining some things we weren't too sure about and the girls in the office, Sarah and Destiny, were pleasant and patient as we had to re-schedule several times for various reasons on our own part. Bay State accomodated us at every turn. It's a rarity these days to find customer service like they have here. It was a bit expensive but you also get what you pay for. The craftsmanship was excellent and the product itself is top notch. It is MADE IN THE USA, also!"

"Chris did an outstanding job remodeling our bathroom. It was an old, small bathroom last remodeled in the late 1970's and in much need of updating and repair. He first gutted the old bathroom down to the studs, removed an old shower stall, removed the toilet, vanity, and mirror, and floor tiles. He re-built the room in a just two weeks, from start to finish. Chris went shopping with me to several local stores and helped me pick out paint colors, the vanity, the new floor tiles, and more. His taste is excellent. He recreated the shower by installing beautiful white tiles with a nice colored strip horizontally across the middle. The result was a very high end, clean, stylish look - the nicest bathroom I had seen, similar to the type you'd see in 5 star hotels. Throughout the whole process, he was great at communicating and quick at responding to our questions. He and his associates were true professionals - very friendly and committed to doing a great job. And the project was stress-free on our end. His work exceeded our expectations and we are impressed and pleased with the end result. It went well. They arrived on time and we had a discussion about the roof. I filled him on my questions and my concerns with a small leak I had in the upstairs bathroom.

In about 10 minutes they were up on the roof walking around and taking pictures.  They gave me a review of my roof and what they saw as an issue.  They were very "just the facts" about it which I appreciated.

They quickly diagnosed the leak issue as an aging, cracking rubber seal around my roof sewer vent. They put rubber cement around the faulty rubber seal to create a temporary workaround until it can be properly fixed. 

They found that I have 2 shingles that are being pushed up by the underlying plywood. They also sealed those where the shingle glue has stopped being adhesive to each other. 

They also diagnosed that when my roof was originally shingled, there was no tar paper barrier put underneath the shingles, which was an eye opener.

They inspected my dormers and chimney flashing and said that was in good shape.

The inspection took about 1 hour, they answered a flurry of questions from me.  They said it was time for a new roof, which I already knew (about 20 years old now) and sent me an estimate including ridge vent installation and the overall cost.  He also sent me the pictures in email that I requested of the shingles and the sewer vent seal.

The quote was in range with what I understand to be what the cost for my roof will be about: $7800.  I expect my roof to be in the range of $6500-9000 with estimates and this came right in the middle. It was a competitive offer.

We are not ready to replace yet, but based on the experience, when we decide next year to replace, I will have them included in the bids as they were professional and DID solve my leak issue.  We have had several rain storms since and the leak has ceased.
