"It went very well! Tim came to the apartment and looked at the issue. He told me that he will place the order for the new and more efficient unit than the old boiler and install asap. Tim's crew came the following Monday to demolish the old boiler and installed the new boiler on the same day. The new boiler was up and running on the same day. It was a smooth startup!"

"Breathsafe did a wonderful job with installation! They worked fast and in some yucky weather too get our right on mitigation system installed! They are very fairly priced and you can tell that they don’t make it a goal to profit off of customers, but rather just make a living. VERY kid friendly couple, Lances wife played hide and seek with my 4 year old. 😂 I would bring them back for any project they are qualified to complete!!"

"The system was installed and levels are down, but the process involved in getting there, was not good. The crew showed up late, on both days. They had the power off to half the house all night. They didn't tell me ... we just found out that evening that half the house had no power, including the invisible fence for our dogs. They blew the 15A breaker they were using for their power tools, so, although they are not licensed electricians, they replaced the 15A breaker. In the process, they turned ON a 50 amp breaker for some unknown reason, which I had off because the cable was EXPOSED in our kitchen during remodeling. As I was installing our new range, unbeknownst to me, I was working with a LIVE 50 amp wire that was 3 inches from killing me. Fortunately it arched on the range, and not on me. I called the owner, he joked about it "almost killing me." He was completely apathetic, sarcastic, and defensive rather than remorseful and apologetic. I do not recommend!"

"I would not recommend SWAT Environmental. They installed a radon system at my house and did a very poor job sealing the pipe out of the roof. It immediately started leaking. They came out and said they fixed the leak, but they gave me the run around for months to pay to repair the water damage. Finally, they paid for the water damage repairs. A few months later, their supposed leak repair failed and it leaked again, resulting in more water damage. I paid another company $930 to fix it right and I'll have to pay for more repairs. It was such a hassle to get them to pay for the first repair that I didn't even bother a second time."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Lexington, IN

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
