"I have an infloor cleaning system, Chlorinated pool, with fiber filters. I called the company that installed the pool three years ago. They told me that my pool was probably due for drain of old water, cleaned, and refilled. I called Sky Blue Pools(SBP), on a recommendation from a friend, they came by and confirmed pool needed to be serviced. They gave me a quote that was $650. less than the pool installation company wanted to charge me at their base price. I asked SBP (Joey) about my brine line around water line tiles. He said it was about the worst he has seen, and told me it would cost me $3.50 per lineal foot for them to erase it. Joey measured my perimeter and gave me a price, still $370 lower than my other quote, that didn't include line removal. The next day SBP (Joey and Christie, the owners) came by and set up to drain my pool, which took about 14 hrs to complete. We had a cold spell of rainy cold weather that delayed the cleaning a couple days. Joey, Christie, and some other workers showed up and removed the water line mark with a glass bead sprayer. (beautiful job see photos) then they carefully prepped and pressure cleaned the pool pebble tech sidewalls. I couldn't believe all the embedded grime they removed. SBP cleaned out my infloor drain, which was partially clogged with sand from three years of sand storms etc. They cleaned my pump 4 cannister filters and advised me that they were due for replacement, soon. Their price for the filters installed was $110. cheaper than the local pool supply company. SBP then refilled my pool. They came back three times to ensure that the pool chemicals were properly balanced in my pool (no added cost for chemicals or service) and that my pool pump was properly set to auto clean. Additionally, they told me that my pool pump was set to run way too long (8hrs. in winter- 12 hrs. in summer) and that it was not properly synced with the ozone water purifying system. (all of the settings and times were set by the original pool company). Everything is working much more efficiently with the new settings. SBP told me to call them if I had any questions or if I needed anything else done. Sky Blue Pools also cleans and does routine maintenance on pools. They don't charge you mileage or service call, I know they have accounts as far west of the valley as Tonopah, AZ. Sky Blue Pool Service, is a complete pool service company. The owners, (Joey and Jackie) are good people, and they give great personalized service. I highly recommend Sky Blue Pool Service."

"I moved into my house in 1995. There was all ready an in-ground (plaster) pool when we moved in. It had been built in 1990 by Sylvan Pools. The pool was beautiful until around 2010. There were a couple of spots at the bottom of the steps where the re-bar was showing through. So, I decided to have it re-plastered in 2012. I thought they did a good job, at first. The last day the worker, who put water into the pool, left a stain. Okay, I put up with that. Soon after, I tried to turn on the pool light & it didn't come on. It was flooded with water. Okay again, since I never use the pool light. But, starting about 3-4 years ago my pool has started to get more & more stains in it. We live in Phoenix Arizona. We don't close our pool & the pump is run everyday. This year we have had a terrible time with algae. While dealing with it I'm finding more & more hairline cracks in the plaster. "The original pool looked great for 20+ years. This one maybe 4 or 5 years. ""ADEQUATE"" seems" "to be the ""norm"" anymore.""

"We first contacted Henson's fiberglass last year (July 2013) for a ballpark estimate with our rough measurements via email, and received a prompt response. After deciding this winter that we absolutely had to do something about the pool this upcoming year, we contacted Henson's via their website, and Tom came out in mid-January 2014, measured, discussed with us our options, and gave us an estimate that matched the ballpark figure from last year. We thanked him for his time, and told him we would get back to him after taxes so that we knew what we were working with in terms of funds.
We called him back in late March and signed a contract for him to get started. He told us they could set up to drain the pool on a Thursday (he was leaving town Friday), and that then we could turn the drain pump on Sunday so that it would be ready Monday for cleaning and prep, and that we would have our pool in a maximum of 10 to 12 business days, but hopefully only about 5. Since we had decided to go with the granite glass band around the top due to some of the original tiles being missing, I told his prep guy on Thursday that I would like to save some of the tile around the top when he came back, to use as a backsplash on a cabinet top remodel I am doing for the kids' bathroom. The prep guy said okay, and asked me how much I wanted, and I told him about 4 feet of tile. He said that normally they just putty over the tile, which I didn't know, as I assumed when the demo/prep work was done all of the tile would be removed (this is what happened when my mother-in-law had her pool resurfaced in Texas), and replaced with the band. Since I felt bad that I was having him do extra work in removing tile, the kids and I worked over the weekend to remove tile from the shallow end where it would be easier to putty (we have a diving pool so the deep end would have been really unkind). While we were removing tile, the kids asked that we take more tile to make their entire counter top the tile instead of just the backsplash. I agreed, and we removed about 20 feet of tile (still all in the shallow end). Monday, I get a call from the prep guy asking that we not remove the tile as Tom wasn't happy about it, as it creates a need for more putty. Too late :( I list all this out, as I am hoping that it makes others aware to specify ahead of time what can and can't be done.
Anyways, prep work continues off and on from Monday to Thursday (4/7 to 4/10) before we see Tom (and it was frustrating to see only a couple hours prep work done each day because we were worried about how long the pool could sit empty for, but I looked it up, and it was mentioned online that the same prep work gets done at multiple houses in a day, so just because we didn't see a lot going on, the guys were working, just being the most efficient for all customers, so as not to create long wait times). He told us that he was behind and asked if he could work on the weekend. Ha! I don't care, it's not my weekend you're messing up, go right on ahead :) So Tom came out both Saturday and Sunday and worked (his wife even came and helped him), and our pool was finished the afternoon of 4/15 (which we were really grateful for since we'd already committed to a pool party for Easter, oops) and filling.
My only real complaints are the lack of cleanup from his prep team, and a small bit from Tom himself. It's a minor detail but frustrating regardless... at one point during the prep, the secondary prep guy scooped up the last of the debris from the bottom of the pool and dumped it on our desert rock and left it there (about 1 foot by 2 foot patch, a couple inches high), and then Tom left scraps of fiberglass, and we had offered our blower to him from the beginning, so I would have appreciated both of those things being taken care of, but I'm very leery of any form of confrontation and my husband wasn't home, so nothing was done about it because I was too chicken to speak up.
Other than that, I love our pool. It is gorgeous, and fiberglass is amazing. It is truly non-porous, as we were filling it, the water beaded up on the surface, rather than getting it wet like another material would. I do however wish we'd gone with a new tile instead of the granite band, because the water refraction makes it difficult to gauge how full our pool is, where the old tile had a line of grout that I gauged by. I'm probably going to have to do something like take a Sharpie and mark it in some unobtrusive spot (under the diving board maybe!) so that I have that visual aid. The startup chemicals were also really cheap in comparison with our old pool. We used 3 lbs of shock and 8 lbs of stabilizer and we were done. Utter disbelief. I have read reviews of fiberglass and am hoping that we get the same 25-40 years mentioned elsewhere before we have to redo it, because by that time, we'll make the kids pay for it so their kids can swim HA!

"I contacted 3 Shimy's Home Maintenance & Repair because I had several small works of repairs and installation to do very quickly, following the move-out of our tenants. Michael has returned my call promptly, and he was able to squeeze into his schedule quickly to help me. The next day he was at the house to do the work. Also, I needed someone to clean the house throughout very quickly. I asked Michael if he could recommend someone. Michael has contacted a lady with whom he often works and does an excellent job; she changed her work schedule to accommodate because Michael asked her. She arrived at the same time that Michael with all its equipment and its products, ready to do the work! That was awesome! Thank you Michael for your initiative and being pro-active. Michael has installed blinds, re-screen patio screen door, repaired garage entry door, installed dead bolt on garage door, clean out drain and install aerator on all faucets, removed microwave and haul. He did the work in an extremely efficient manner. Michael went pick-up the over the range microwave and the dishwasher at the store and installed them and haul off the dishwasher. Excellent work and cleanup perfect. I asked Michael to provide me with invoices and he has sent them the next day. Being myself a certified General Contractor in industrial, commercial and residential since 26 years, in Québec, Canada, I can assess very quickly the skills of a subcontractor. I asked Michael an estimate to install a Bathroom Vanity Top of 104 inches with 2 bowls, and I received the estimate the next day. He will install when the order will be ship at store. Michael is personable, knowledgeable in many trades, very professional, efficient and concerned about details, work clean and it cleans up once the work is completed. The service provided was high-quality, with excellent time-on-task. I highly recommend him."

FAQs for swimming pool covers installation and replacement projects in Litchfield Park, AZ

The lifespan of automatic pool covers varies by component. Cover fabrics require replacement every five to six years, costing between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on size and material quality. Mechanical elements like motors function for five to ten years before needing replacement at $450 plus labor. The tracking system and housing unit can last considerably longer with proper care. Scheduling professional maintenance one to three times yearly at $150 to $200 per service helps maximize the operational life of all components.

While automatic covers require a larger initial investment, they provide significant advantages that often justify the premium. The convenience of one-touch operation encourages more consistent use, maximizing energy savings that can reach 50% to 70% on heating costs. The enhanced safety features, reduced chemical requirements, and decreased water evaporation deliver ongoing operational savings. These benefits outweigh the higher upfront expense for households that use their pools frequently.

Most existing pools can be retrofitted with automatic covers, though rectangular shapes accommodate them more easily than custom configurations. On-deck track systems offer the most straightforward installation for existing pools since they require minimal structural modifications. Recessed track systems necessitate more substantial deck alterations but provide a cleaner appearance. A professional assessment is essential to determine which system best suits your pool's specific layout and structural characteristics.

Proper maintenance includes promptly removing standing water and debris to prevent excessive weight on the cover. Use manufacturer-approved cleaning solutions for periodic washing according to recommended guidelines. Keep tracks clear of dirt and obstructions that could cause alignment problems or motor strain. Professional servicing one to three times yearly allows technicians to inspect mechanical components, lubricate moving parts, and make necessary adjustments before minor issues develop into major problems requiring costly repairs.
