"These guys did an AMAZING job on the concrete patio for my 24ftX12ft pergola! It’s absolutely beautiful! Upon consultation, I told them I wanted a space for the whole pergola with a circular hang-off for addition seating and firepit. They understood exactly what I had in mind and the end project was EXACTLY what I had envisioned!! The concrete is beyond beautiful and I appreciate the attention to detail given. I can see many backyard events being celebrated here where I will be excited to tell guests all about their work! Additionally, I requested a pergola cover to protect the area from the elements. I wanted clear plastic that was durable for rain to run off. Initially, the contractor brought me roofing that was clear but with a gray tint which wasn’t what I had in mind. The contractor got the new material that fit my vision the same evening! I appreciated them for being accommodating to make sure my needs were met! If you’re in the Houston area and in need for concrete and other construction services or even related services, this is the team for you!"

"I recently completed a six-month project with NRG Remodeling, and I couldn't be more impressed! The renovation of my 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, and kitchen went smoothly from start to finish. The communication was top-notch, and the team worked quickly and efficiently, all while maintaining very fair pricing. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and the entire experience was stress-free—much smoother than I anticipated. It's rare to find such a professional and personable team, and I’m already planning my next project with them. I would absolutely recommend them for any home renovation and will definitely turn to them for future work!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Livingston, TX

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
