"Alex was an excellent support at this stressful time. The contacts that she referred me to for storage was exceptional. The moving team was punctual, professional and performed seemingly impossible feats of furniture moving."

"I had the pleasure of using this company and couldn’t say anything bad about my experience. They sent out Madge & Pierce and they did an amazing job. If you ever need help or unsure of moving call this company and request these guys. They know what they are doing"

"1 Star -- Proceed With Extreme Caution- Kobe Moving Inc. I do not recommend Kobe Moving based on my direct experience. I hired this company for moving services and paid them and when all my property was in there unmarked truck they demanded, approximately $5,000 for work that was not completed as agreed. The job was left unfinished, and the condition of the work raised serious concerns regarding safety and professionalism. After payment, communication became inconsistent and unreliable. Attempts to obtain a clear completion date or resolution were largely ignored. This created additional stress, delays, and financial impact. What is most concerning is the lack of accountability. When a company accepts full payment, there is a reasonable expectation that the work will be completed properly and safely. That did not happen here. As a consumer, I have since been forced to pursue formal remedies, including complaints with appropriate regulatory agencies, due to the unresolved nature "

"Zaya and Angelo were the best movers I’ve ever hired! These two guys were professional and very understanding of situation. I was moving out after a break up so the situation required elements of delicacy and these guys delivered. They were fast, above and beyond helpful and trustworthy. FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Long Beach, CA

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
