"We contracted with Mottern about 10 years ago to have a retaining wall built to replace a poorly constructed wall holding up the driveway. The wall was block on footer and it has held beautifully. When we original had the wall built, we decided against covering it with decorative stone. Jeff told us at the time that they would come back and add it if we ever changed our mind. Here we are ten years later deciding to add the stone. We called Mottern because the wall they built has had no issues (previous iterations of the wall had plenty of issues). The stone covering job was done quickly and professionally and looks great. If you're looking for quality, Mottern is for you."

"Bill came out personally and provided an estimate quickly. He was the fifth of five contractors I had come to my home, and the only one to provide a written estimate. Work commenced about a month later and took less than two weeks from cradle-to-grave. The project entailed demolition of a retaining wall, driveway and concrete stairs, the removal of several cubic yards of soil, pouring two new retaining walls, pouring new steps and pouring a new (wider driveway). Bill's crew did a good job cleaning up afterward, and putting the yard back together, so much so that a landscaper commented how well they did. Would definitely recommend CM for any hardscaping or concrete work around your home."

"I’m very pleased with the driveway and retaining wall that Robert Construction completed for me. The project was completed within the advertised timeframe and exactly as agreed upon. Robert was willing to accommodate my request for a stronger concrete mix to withstand heavier vehicles. The other handful of contractors providing quotes for this project just replied that a mix with a strength rating above 3500PSI would be “much” more expensive, without saying how much (the PSI rating I wanted was literally just a single digit adjustment in the cement-to-aggregate portions of the concrete mix). None of the other contractors suggested increasing the slab thickness to 6in as an option either, until I asked for it. While Robert brought up different concrete mix options on his own and was able to discuss them competently."

"Wow! Let me start by saying I had several contractors come by to give me estimates on fixing some major concerns I’ve had in my yard for quite a while. I needed a professional who could complete everything I needed at a reasonable price. Well, Mr Julio Escobar (ET General Contractor Inc) was able to accommodate everything I needed done. He listened to everything I needed and provided excellent suggestions as to the right approach to do the job. This entailed re-sloping my backyard to direct water away from my house foundation and installing a drainage system in my backyard. My backyard was a barren wasteland that needed quite a bit of work. I had barely any grass on one side with many trees that I wanted removed in order to get more sunlight and allow grass to grow. Julio’s crew did an amazing job (cut down trees, removed all branch/log debris and grinded/ground the stumps down to the roots). His crew planted 29 Japanese Cedar trees along my fence line. My appreciation goes out to Julio Escobar for working with the nursery to get me all Japanese Cedars instead of the Leyland Cypress trees. Exactly what I wanted all along. God Bless you! He and his crew trucked in tons of river rock to lay around my pool and along the foundation in the back of the house and then laid, I forget how many, rolls of sod. These guys worked hard and in the worst heat of the summer. Lastly, but definitely not least he and his crew brought in clean topsoil and organic compost, grass seed, and fertilizer to cover my front yard (that also was a wasteland). After that he aerated the area and laid sod on the sides of my driveway so that there would be no run off when it rained. I can’t express enough how professional, courteous, and attentive Mr Escobar and his entire crew were throughout the entire job. I would definitely use them again for future projects. God Bless them for their hard work and strong work ethic!"

"They did an excellent job repairing stone veneer on a retaining wall that had been damaged. They did a good job matching the repair work to the undamaged stone and it looks great and you can't tell it was damaged. After the job was complete they cleaned up the job area. They weren't the lowest price quote I received for this small job but they showed up and got the job done."

"The cost was reasonable and the final quality was satisfactory. Ran into some bumps on the way: The patio was intended to channel rainwater away from house. Initially, the way it was installed, it pooled right near the house. Upon my request, the part of the patio that pooled was picked up, extra material was added and it seems to be draining correctly now. The other problem was that the terraced garden beds were filled with the material removed from the back yard despite the fact that they were going to be gardened in. I had to request that the material be removed so I could get topsoil in. First Impressions quoted doing that for 250$. I found a local place that would deliver for 92$. When First Impressions heard that, they dropped the price to 120$. Overall, the job ended up being satisfactory, but I wasn't impressed with communication and I'm not sure it would have been done correctly had I not been checking on everything daily and requesting that things be done according to the contract.

"I needed a wooden fence repaired on short notice. Edin responded to my Angi's List posting, looked at the fence and 2 gates to repair, then gave me a good estimate on the work. Initially I thought the estimate to be a little high however, looking at the detail he offered, the estimate was reasonable. Edin adjusted his other projects to take care of the fence as the timing was critical. When completed, he replaced one section of fence, re-set another post that was moved over the years by the yard (he re-set the post in cement) and connected the loose sections to the post correctly, repaired two gates that needed cross-boards replaced plus re-set the posts for the gates, and replaced hinges and latches on 3 gates. All of this was done in one day and turned out exceptionally well. I wish I had engaged him last year! Holy Land Landscaping is top-notch. They cleaned up the yard when finished and truly did a very professional job. Thank you Edin and team!! (and by the way, the price was quite reasonable for the work and quality provided). Edin and his team are wonderful to work with!"
