"We researched many roofing products & several local roofing companies before deciding upon Cornett. Their HD powdered-coated metal shakes were our first choice for looks & also offered best quality of materials & warranty, even their "standard" 5V was a better quality than what others were selling. It took about 2 wks to schedule the quote apparently due to the amount of roof damage from recent local storms. Our project was started in a timely manner about 2 wks after signing the contract & took 3 days to complete all 3 buildings. The office & crew were very polite. The crew kept the jobsite tidy & worked long days. There were some hiccups along the way & we feel that inter-departmental communication could be improved upon. Most of the crew was ESL so perhaps there was a language barrier involved, too. In addition, there was an incident of what seemed like poor planning based on the weather forecast while finishing other parts of the roof rather than the part on the house that was still open requiring tarps overnight. All that being said, once our concerns were relayed to the proper person, the issues were addressed & resolved in a very timely manner. A couple of issues also popped up soon after the job was completed & we were pleasantly surprised that those were also promptly resolved. The only issue that we are still not quite sure of is if the crew was actually Cornett employees or subbed. We specifically asked if they were subs during the quote & we also asked the spokesman for the crew & were told they "work for Cornett". What is strange is that there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding about removing gutters for the roof installation & the crew asked if they were going to replace the gutters, too. However, at the time of the quote, we were told that there wasn't room to negotiate the gutter quote because that was subbed out. Based on that info, a reasonable conclusion is that if the same crew that installed the roof was also going to install gutters then they would appear to be subs. We suspect that the "crew leader" is an employee of Cornett so technically that is why we were told they do not use subs. As it turned out, even if they were subs, they did a good job, which was our concern about using subs in the first place, but we would have liked more transparency in the details. We absolutely love the look of our new roofs, esp the shakes, & have had several compliments on our "new house". Most importantly, we have had several rainstorms over the last month & there has been no sign of leaks & we can expect no shingle damage for the next 50 yrs. We highly recommend Cornett. <br> <br>"

"Our home received hail damage during the April 2013 hail storm.  Company was recommended by insurance agent.  The company came and inspected the house for damage and provided a written report and estimate to repair damage.  The insurance company accepted the report and estimate and we agreed to have Hays & Sons do the repair work.  The work was scheduled and completed.  The work was scheduled in different intervals.  A couple of times work was scheduled for a certain day, then had to be rescheduled, hence the B grade on punctuality.  The work was completed and done well. <br />"

"The job started with us needing someone to replace some siding on the chimney due to water leaking in behind the siding causing <br /> deterioration and paint peeling off of the siding. The job was relatively small and consequently we contacted several qualified contractors and they were not willing to even come and scope out our job. Somebody referred us to Maximus and when I called and <br /> talked to Eric, he was willing to take on the project even though it was relatively small. When he showed up to evaluate the situation and give an estimate for the job, he discovered that the cause of our problem was that we had a concrete cap around our chimneys that had cracked and separated and allowing water to seep in and deteriorate the trim boards and siding. We agreed to have him replace the siding and trim boards and to replace the chimney chase because his quote was very reasonable. During this same visit, I was asking him about the condition of the shingles on the roof because they had been in place for 20 years. They were showing signs of wear but he said they could last another year or two. I inquired as to the cost of him roofing the house too while he was doing the other jobs for us and that quote seemed very reasonable so I agreed to that job as well. He finished the total project today in less than a week and everything looks really good. He maintained the schedule that he promised and he was on site nearly every day to make sure things were running smooth. We will definitely call Maximus again when the need arises. <br />"

"The two jobs I needed done went very well. I have hired JUD Construction do many large and small jobs around my 1950's era house. I had a new door installed in my kitchen and a new tub and tile in my main bathroom. The new door and the frame surrounding the door were painted according to my selected color of white and complements the kitchen which JUD Construction remodeled in 2017. The knob and lock set was removed from my old door and installed on the new door (one of the many things I like about this company is they re-use items when possible!). The new door is very tight and solid. In the main bath I had the old tub and tub surround removed and replaced with a new tub and ceramic tile from the tub up to the ceiling. A new faucet and shower head were installed along with a curved shower bar. The shower bar was permanently installed at the correct height so that the shower curtain and liner do not drag on the floor or inside the tub. The curved shower bar is great! I highly recommend it as it provides a lot more room; no shower curtain liner flapping around the legs. JUD Construction is the only contractor I will have do work on my house. Not only did I have great advice all along the way from Mike, Jason, and Nate, I was kept informed and updated when some of the supplies and materials were delayed. Doing these home improvements in the middle of the COVID Pandemic resulted in some unavoidable delays. The workmen were efficient, polite, and always cleaned the area up at the end of every work day. It was another great experience having JUD Construction work on my house! ."

"This was the only roofing company that we requested estimates from that suggested that we contact our insurance company to see if they would pay some for the new roof due to some wind and hail damage notice when they inspected the old roof. Our insurance company did pay about half of the total cost. <br /> I'm not totally comfortable in judging the roofing job right now. I was not home when they put the new roof on. The representative called one day saying they planned to put the roof on the following day. I had a previous commitment and couldn't be home on that day and I told him I would prefer that they reschedule so I could be there. He called his contractor to see if they could change the work day but the contractor wanted to do the job on the following day. Therefore, I wasn't there to see the work being done. The roof looks good and I think they did a good job but only time will tell. <br />"

He stuck to this quote, except for extra work which was required because of damage found. He charged me for the extra work at an hourly rate. <br /> Because of the low pitch of my roof and shoddy workmanship when the house was built, Mike and Thad found extensive damage under the old shingles. There were rotten truss tails, rotten decking, and rafters that weren't nailed in place, as well as misalignment caused by one part of the house settling. The ideal solution would have been to tear off all trusses and start over, but I could not have afforded that. Mike and Thad applied their carpentry skills to anchor rafters, to shim bowed trusses, and to fasten new wood on either side of rotted trusses, cutting the new wood to just the right angle. <br /> If you are a looking for a person to do a fast and dirty roof job (say for a property you're going to sell), do not hire Thad. If you want a roof on a building that you plan to keep for a long time, then I highly recommend Thad. He is a perfectionist. He ignored no problem, but for each one either got me up on the roof to see or showed me a photo, and then described options for fixing the problem. I feel very confident that my roof is now solid and sound and will last for years. I most definitely would hire Thad again. <br /> About the snow retention system on my parents' roof, Thad put many hours of research into finding the best product. The installation happened without a hitch and the price was as quoted. <br /> <br />"
