"We contracted with Mottern about 10 years ago to have a retaining wall built to replace a poorly constructed wall holding up the driveway. The wall was block on footer and it has held beautifully. When we original had the wall built, we decided against covering it with decorative stone. Jeff told us at the time that they would come back and add it if we ever changed our mind. Here we are ten years later deciding to add the stone. We called Mottern because the wall they built has had no issues (previous iterations of the wall had plenty of issues). The stone covering job was done quickly and professionally and looks great. If you're looking for quality, Mottern is for you."

"MC Fence was very quick to respond -- they responded within an hour of submitting a request for quote on their website -- and were extremely professional from the first interaction.

Mike, the owner, was able to schedule a Saturday appointment to measure the fence and provide an estimate, which was a very nice surprise.  Mike was prompt and professional throughout.  He went over our requirements and offered helpful suggestions to design the fence in a way that would meet those requirements while eliminating unnecessary costs.  Mike clearly knows his business extremely well, which gave us confidence that we would get a quality fence.

After totaling the costs of the various aspects of our fence, Mike was able to give us a quote on the spot.  I had a price in mind and Mike's quote was significantly lower.  We had been planning to have another fence company provide a quote, but based on the other company's lack of responsiveness, Mike's professionalism, and the quote, we decided to accept Mike's quote on the spot.

Mike provided an install date -- the Thursday (5 days) after the initial meeting -- and time at the same time as the quote.  Mike stated that the lumber would be delivered the day before and that the install would be done the following day.  On the day of the install, the crew did not show at the specified time.  However, Mike called shortly after the time they were supposed to arrive to apologize and provide a new time.  He said that despite the delayed arrival, the fence would still be completed in one day.  While this could have detracted from this review, Mike handled the situation extremely well.

One of the things that Mike said set his company apart from other fencing companies is that there is always a supervisor on site.  When the crew arrived, I went to see if I could find the supervisor to ask if the crew needed anything from me.  Unfortunately, due to a language barrier, I couldn't find out if there was a supervisor there. 

I've heard horror stories from friends and family about home improvement projects where the contractor sits around, wastes time, or does a poor job.  I'm pleased to say that we had none of these problems with MC Fence.  The crew was obviously very skilled, professional, and efficient.  They demolished the old fence more quickly than I thought possible and started building the new fence.  The entire project took about 5 hours.  The final product looks awesome.

Mike stopped by at the end of the day to inspect the fence and make sure that it met his standards -- to include clean-up.  He also offered helpful suggestions for maintaining the fence.

Overall, we're extremely satisfied with both the service and the end product we received.  We're thinking of having more fence and deck work done this spring or summer.  If we decide to go forward, I'll be calling MC Fence and Deck.

"We had a stone sidewalk installed about 5 yrs ago. Over the past winter some of the stones had crumbled and the edges were uneven. It was a very messy appearance. Jeff was prompt in giving us a reasonable estimate not only to repair the sidewalk but also adding a brick border. He showed up with his crew on time and ready to work.
