"The project went very well. Their service guy called in advance to confirm the appointment, called to confirm his arrival time and arrived on time. He took care with his equipment, acted professionally, asked questions and listened well, and took great care with his ladder to be gentle with our house. He also took pictures of the damaged and rusted chimney cap so I could see the extent of the damage (since we can't climb to the roof). He was efficient and finished the project in less time than quoted. Finally he checked in before leaving to walk through his work, answer question and what to look for in case of future problems."

He described the repair (installation of a stainless steel tube inside the chimney) and emailed a quote with accompanying photos of the view from the roof down and at the bottom. He said he had several installations lined up and wasn't sure when those would be cleaned up. Fortunately for me, he had a cancellation and was able to do the work. This was done in February with snow on the roof. I was pleased at the professionalism and speed of repair."

We were quoted a much higher price but once we removed the wall and they had access to the area they were going to be working in, we learned that they could use our original pipe that connected our furnace to the chimney. All they needed to do was install the liner and this saved us several hundred dollars! "I got quotes from three companies. Derek's was the middle quote but he was the only one that actually took the time to explain everything to me and he figured out how we could get an even larger insert in the fireplace where one other company told me they couldn't make it any larger and the third company said he could only replace it with what was already there. Derek showed up on time and the fireplace works great. He also added the brick backer kit and a blower with a remote. I did have an issue with the fireplace after installation where it kept making a loud pinging noise. Derek came back and swapped the entire unit out and re-did the tile surround with any complaints. His team also made sure to clean up after each day. Overall it looks great and I'm going to have Derek add another fireplace shortly."

"Bob was terrific! He was prompt about coming to do the chimney inspection and cleaning. He inspected and vacuumed 10 gallons of soot & debris! He suggested a stainless steel liner because my house is close to 100 years old. I had had two other chimney people here in the past and they would not do the cleaning, so I was thrilled that Bob at American Chimney completed the inspection and cleaning so thoroughly. "After dealing with a complete scam artist at a different chimney company I called George at 330 PM regarding a draft issue with my furnace flue. He was currently at another job site and informed me that he would come right out as soon as he was done. He showed up 45 minutes later and had my furnace flue issue resolved within another 20. He then inspected the rest of my fireplace and chimney and made recommendations as to what work needed to be done, but never attempted to pressure me into having him complete the work as the last guy had done. George was honest and hard working. I plan on hiring him again soon for my clogged fireplace damper."
