"Tony remodeled my screened-in porch to a three-season porch and he did an outstanding job beating all the sunporch people in the area for pricing. I would recommend him before anyone else in the area!"

"It went very well! Lewis Services is prompt and professional. They take pride in their work and do a wonderful job! We have used other lawn companies before to mow for us and they would come when they felt like it, whether the grass needed to be mowed or not. They would not do a thorough job mowing and weed eating. We are very pleased! Thank you for your dedication and hard work! Your caring attitude is appreciated!"

"The jobs took a few days in total. We had them do 2 phases to our project. They were pretty much on time and did exactly what we wanted. Shannon was very professional and helpful. We will probably be using them to do the rest of our front area in the spring. I would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"We really love our windows. Dave was great from the time he came to show us windows until after the installation. He wasn’t pushy but honestly helped us make a good decision about which windows to buy. This was a big purchase for us and he really took our situation into consideration when presenting options. He set up the installation process and was there with his crew the whole time. They all worked as a team to get everything done quickly and carefully. They were very careful and clean. They covered everything with drop cloths and left my house as clean as when they got here. Everything turned out better than I even expected!"

"Awesome, totally awesome.  Very responsive to email, phone calls, and service.  Darryl is very pleasant to speak and work with and quick to get to the job and complete it.  He worked in the rain and cool temperatures to fix the mailbox before the mail would have been delivered.  I definitely recommend this company and will definitely use their services again!  I couldn't be more pleased! <br />"

"Jeremy did a very thorough inspection of a large complicated roof, explained what he saw in a way that was easily understood, gave straight answers to questions, wrote a detailed professional report afterwards and did everything promptly. Knowledgable and experienced. Could not ask for more."

"I sent in deposit check of 429.70 on June 13 and faxed back signed proposal sheet. We were told to expect call in early August for work to be done. In Mid-August I left two messages on their phone line asking when we could expect them. NEVER received a response. Around Labor Day weekend in early Sept. my husband left message on their phone. They returned his call the next day and said it would be maybe about a week - so this is now 4 weeks after the estimated date we were given in June when we sent in deposit. Work was completed on or around Sept. 16 - took them 3 visits to finish it. THe workers were very professional and did a good job; however, I do not think the job was worth the price of $1300, especially for only 693 square feet. When I spoke to the owner on the second day of work and voiced my issues with the company thus far (no response to messages, install more than a month late with no information in between about when install would start), the owner was rather snippy with me and stated the following: 1) They dont recall getting my messages, but then he later admitted that their office misplaced (or lost) my proposal paperwork, which probably messed their process up in terms of phone calls (??) 2) They were really busy and called to PA to do log home restoration work in July, and this put them behind schedule (would have been nice if they told us that back in early August) 3) The reason they cashed the deposit check immediately in June was because they use top-of-the-line supplies, and they have to order them up front, etc....so they need the $ to cover it. I really did not appreciate his tone, and I do not him recall being at all apologetic that we had received no return phone calls or info in August re: the status of our work schedule. Maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day, but for $1300 I really don't want the attitude, even if it is free. Lastly, I wish they had told me how much grime was going to fly all into my aluminum screened porch, and all over the siding. I was told to expect water, but wasn't told about the dirt and grime that would be left behind on the siding, and on the inside roof of the porch, which is white."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Luray, VA

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
