"Before hiring LevelLift, I contacted a friend of mine who owns a Structural Engineering firm, but only work commercial not residential.  So after receiving at least (5) estimates, we agreed that LevelLift was the company to hire.    <br /> Met with Paul Mauer of Levelift Systems, he was very nice, patient and professional along with his team.  Received a proposal for the work noted below: <br /> The work in the basement  included but not limited too grout beneath concrete, excavate & installed timber walls, <br /> raise window well & installed standard home-improvement store grade cover, raise grade, furnished & installed discharge pipes for down spouts, installed seven steel beams, new interior drainage, repaired damaged mortar joints, installed 12" high cast-in-place concrete curb between steel beams and they took care of all the Montgomery County permits and inspections.  In addition, mobilization, site preparation and  furnished & installed discharge pipe for sump pump. <br /> In addition, Paul recommended a very good Structural Engineer to take care of the structural drawings. <br /> The contract payment terms were broken down into four payments with the option of using major credit cards and we have a ten (10) year warranty. <br /> Paul and his team were very responsive, punctual, and professional and the quality of the work was excellent.  We have not had any problems in the basement since 2013.  They are highly recommended. "I noticed a crack in our foundation in my yearly walk-around of the house that we'd just purchased last year. I'd also noticed some sticking doors and cracked edges around the window frames. These things combined made me concerned we had an issue with our foundation. I called Apex and they set up an appointment within 2 days. They called the day before to confirm and gave me a call the day of to let me know Lou, the general manager was on his way. In my college days I did some basic contracting work for a few years and I've worked under a number of different types of contracting professionals. In my experience I can say without hesitation that Lou is the real deal. 3rd generation, super excited about his business, honest, knowledgeable about all aspects of support structures, waterproofing and construction. He toured my townhouse with me for a little under an hour explaining what I was seeing. The crack was a minor concern but something I could repair myself. He told me to keep an eye on the crack after repairing it. He walked around in our basement and took his time explaining how the home was constructed and what was causing the issues I was seeing. He also took his time explaining that if we did have a foundation issue what he and his team would do to repair it. . Essentially the problem was poor installation during renovation and that there weren't any issues that would warrant him coming out. I offered to pay him to for coming out but he refused saying he was happy to come out and that an honest review of his inspection would be enough. If I did need Lou's services for anything related to construction, waterproofing, or structural repair, I'd hire him without any reservations. Jesse Riley"

"I've used Sharper Cut to develop the gardens in front of the house, terrace the front garden for a level field for the trees, bushes, plants and water fountain, and build out the back garden to include and expanded patio and fishpond with waterfall. Their work is superior...and helps give the house a more inviting exterior view to family and guests. I'd recommend them for any project great or small...and they can tailor the project for future growth based on your budget! The winter refresh and clean up went exceptionally well...as their work always provides!"

"Everyone I interacted with was friendly , professional and efficient. George the estimator and salesman was very professional with over 30 years of experience. He described the work process and explained what we needed to do to help make space for the work to proceed efficiently. We indicated we would move everything except laundry sink, washer and dryer. We were lucky to have space in their schedule the following week which helped us decide to use them. I did request references which I called and the references were positive. I also requested being named as “additional insured” on their certificate of insurance which they happily did. Their foreman Shane, called confirming his start time and he first setup dust partitions, explained what he was about to do and began jack hammering to breakup the concrete floor. The general foreman Larry inspected the work the following day and encouraged me to inspect with him and answer any questions I might have. Overall project took 4-days. One note of caution do not expect any drywall replacement or reinstalling carpet as the concrete floor patch needs days to cure before replacing coverings and any legged shelving-being placed on the surface. Expect broom clean by the contractor but final vacuum and damp mopping by house owner."

"Stowe Contracting has done work for me before, so I expected the quality and professionalism.  But then Gene said he could do the job for almost $2,000 less than the other estimate I received!  <br /> My house is under contract and the home inspection revealed some things that needed to be done quickly.  Settlement was just two weeks away.  A portion of the roof over an addition had some bumps and ripples in several places and needed new vent caps.  Sam and Erik pulled the old shingles off and repaired the sheathing underneath.  They discovered what was causing the roof's problems and made repairs to prevent it happening again. The new shingles match the older section of the roof perfectly.  You can hardly tell that one section is ten years older.  Their job was made more difficult by a new septic system being put in the back yard.  But instead of being in each other's way, they seemed to be working together to get both jobs done more efficiently.  There was a rainy day during the roof repair.  Sam made sure the roof was covered thoroughly to prevent any possibility of leaking.  They spent the rainy day doing the inside repairs.  At the end of each day, the work area was left clean. No tools or debris left out.  Gene sent an electrician to do a few repairs and a plumber to fix a short cycling pressure tank.   <br /> All the work was finished before settlement day.  Sam and Erik were always respectful toward me and my family and of my home.  No muddy shoes or grimy fingerprints.  Gene called everyday or stopped by to make sure things were going well and that I was happy with the work. Next time, I won't even bother with other estimates.  I couldn't be happier with Stowe Contracting.  Excellent quality, excellent price!  Thank you, Gene! "
