"They were very professional. They came in matched my color to the cabinets perfectly. If you want a big project that involves your kitchen cabinets refacing I highly recommend The Home Depot. I never went to the store everything was done in my house. Great Job."

"Great experience! Gerry was really responsive and able to install our cabinets quickly. When our countertop guy came to install he said he rarely sees cabinets this level. Would highly recommend"

"The work was excellent with strong attention to details. The crews arrived on time and made sure to not make a mess in the house. They removed the old cabinets, tub, toilet and tile. They built a shower with a glass door, laid new tile and installed new cabinets with a countertop."

"Dany and his team were top-notch. There were other projects going on in the home and they were great at “working around” the other contractors. They finished ahead of schedule. Cabinets look great. Highly recommended."

"

We bought a pre-owned home and most of the rooms already had crown molding, but we decided to have the remainder of the house finished as well.  To begin with we had crown molding installed, painted and caulked in two rooms - the office and the guest bedroom.  I am a perfectionist and we could not be more pleased.  Dana and his staff are very professional.  They exceed  expectations.  Lindsey is great from the initial appointment until the job is complete.  And Cassie is an artist in her field.  They want the customer to be completely happy with the job.  We are scheduling them to come out again after the first of the year to complete a difficult job in the master bathroom.  We highly recommend I Crown Homes for your crown molding projects.

We also are taking this opportunity to rescind our review of last May, after a number of unfortunate issues resulted in our canceling this crown molding project and getting our money refunded.  This fall we decided to try it again, and we are certainly glad we did!

"We went in for a design appointment and made all our selections. Then a job walk was done with Ray and Shane our project manager. Shane reached when the project was ready to get started and they were at my door that morning. They were some delays throughout the project, where I had to wait for supplies to come in. But Shane and Ray always returned my calls and made me feel good whenever I had a concern. If a mistake was made they made sure it was corrected. In the end I was a happy customer, even though I had a few inconveniences it was all made good and Ray said all feedback is good for him so they can improve in any areas needed. I would consider CKBR again and suggest you do too, I think when your spending money like this for a remodel. Of course you don't want delays but like my old boss would always say "it comes with the territory". What you really want, is knowing someone is going to pick up the phone when you call, and that they show you they care and appreciate your business. So because of this, I give them an A!"

"After months of meeting with many cabinet makers and kitchen designers I hired Stone Creek to remodel my kitchen. I provided the new kitchen design layout and then worked with the sales person and ultimately their cabinet engineer to complete the cabinet design. They have an in-house general contractor - Charlie - who is absolutely fabulous. Honest as the day is long. Totally trust him.
The new design required a total gutting of two rooms - the old kitchen and dining room. The wall between the two rooms was completely removed and when they did this they discovered that it was a load bearing wall and the main water line coming into the house was located in that wall. To Charlie's credit he ate the cost to put a beam in to deal with the load and to dig a channel into the brick to run the water line up to the ceiling since he did not catch either of these in his original estimate.
Work started when they said it would and with the exception of a delay due to an issue with the dry wall sub contractor everything was completed within a reasonable time frame. They cleaned daily. They blocked off the renovation area from the rest of the house to reduce the dust. Charlie and his crew were great. I would highly recommend them.
The cabinets are also beautiful. I hired Stone Creek because I wanted a lot of specialty cabinets. The cost of the actual cabinets were significantly less than what a 'standard' cabinet company quoted me and I got exactly what I wanted. Really spectacular.
Also, periodically throughout this I worked with their interior decorator - Michele - who was so amazingly helpful. She gave me names of people/companies to work with to find the back-splash tile and the shutters. She was always very, very quick to get back to me.
Their Overall "B" rating and "C" ratings for Responsiveness and Professionalism are due to the company's very, very ineffective and inefficient work process. The sales person - Rick - was very responsive UNTIL I signed the contract, then trying to get him to provide an updated price or work with the project manager to get it to me was like pulling teeth. This happened over and over throughout the entire renovation. Extremely frustrating and so unnecessary. Once the project starts the Project Manager should have the ability to produce/provide the new price based on change requests without having to go back to the sales person. This did begin to happen towards the end of the project but only after weeks of frustration and complaints.
Another point of lack of professionalism was around the counter top. I had looked for months at various types and once I selected a counter top by Cambria, I was told by the project manager - Mike - that  "that counter top is very difficult to work with" which I interpreted as the actual counter top was hard to fabricate - which I replied then "why do you even have it in your showroom as one of your selections" . . . after a back and forth ridiculous text message conversation which clearly showed that I knew more about counter tops then the project manager did, I walked away. Then I had to scramble to find another company to get the counter top I wanted without causing a major delay in the project.  I was able to find a great fabricator.  FYI - Cambria counter tops are not difficult to fabricate. Cambria is just very particular to whom they sell their products. So, perhaps that is what he meant when he was referring to it being difficult, that Cambria wouldn't sell to them. But if you don't like a product - for whatever reason - then don't offer it in your showroom as an option.
Overall, I would hire Stone Creek again for the cabinets (which are absolutely beautiful) and in a heart beat I would work with Charlie and his crew again for another remodel. But I would request a different sales person and project manager."

"It went great! I dealt with Matt May and there are a few reasons why I really enjoyed dealing with him.  The first is that he is not "salesy" in the least bit.  He's a very calm person and he spends enough time with you so that you feel fully educated about the entire process.  I originally called one of the top-rated Angie's List granite installers and had a bad sales experience (forgot to call me back and I had to follow-up with him for a visit--When he eventually did come in for an estimate he spent a total of 5 to 10 minutes coming in a measuring everything and then promptly disappeared and NEVER called me back or even emailed me to give me the quote.)  Once I made the decision to go with Matt (after calling 3 references, receiving pictures from him, and getting quotes from 2 other installers), he even offered to go with me to AZ tile to shop for the granite.  He also had me come out to the work yard to see if there was any of their scrap granite for my small bathroom that I wanted to look at for a discounted price.  (I ended up scoring an incredible piece of Blue Pearl)  Matt took great care to ensure that the granite would be laid out in the most optimal manner.  He was very concerned that the seam be as "seamless" as possible....with granite this is no easy feat and he pulled it off wonderfully.

Matt guided me through the entire process from purchasing a sink, to lining up a plumber, to finding someone to do the backsplash, to ensuring that my cabinet refinishing would be timed right.   At one point he even acted as a general contracter of sorts by calling up my cabinet refacing contact to ensure the schedule would go off without a hitch (I actually was referred to him by my cabinet refinishing contact).  He also was great at giving me his advice when I asked regarding the edging, tile color selection, and sink selection.

We set a date of Friday 2 weeks out, and while the job ended up getting pushed back to the beginning of the following week, it worked out great for me b/c I had something pressing to focus on that weekend anyway.  Also, another plus to this company was the price---it seemed well under the other estimates that I was given.

When it came time for the install it all went perfectly.  Fabian, Fabian Jr., and Cornelius came on time to do the install and they were cordial and went right to work.  They had a big job ahead of them especially since I had tiled granite that they had to rip out as well as a backsplash and the bathroom.  Amazingly enough, they got everything done in one day and were great about cleaning up the mess!

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Mammoth, AZ

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
