"The crew was very efficient and did a wonderful job repairing our cracked asphalt driveway. We are very happy with the result. Joe was great with his communication and adapted professionally to our specific needs. We would definitely call on him again."

"I don't usually write reviews, but GOT PAVING did an outstanding job. I got several estimates and didn't go with the lowest price. Aaron Joseph, the owner of GOT PAVING, came to look over the job and sent an estimate that day via email. We picked a date and Aaron showed up the afternoon before with all of the equipment so they could get started first thing in the morning. Aaron and his crew got to our house at 8:30 AM and went right to work. Aaron was there to oversee the whole job. The crew and Aaron are very professional and everyone worked together to make sure the job was well done. They were almost finished when a tornado hit within a mile of our house. The wind and rain was really blowing and they all kept working! The next morning Aaron and his crew showed up again at 8:30 to do my neighbor's driveway. Before starting there, Aaron checked mine and said it wasn't up to his standards so he replaced the part they had worked on during the tornado. It looked good to me, but he replaced it to make it up to his standards. That says it all! GOT PAVING did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone. We couldn't be happier with our new driveway.    <br>"

"First I must say we used Mickey's initially to install a driveway a few years back, and we were pleased with the results. Recently, Mickey's Asphalt was in the neighborhood doings asphalt work for other neighbors. One Saturday we received a knock on the door to see if we would like to have our driveway seal coated for $250.00. The price seemed reasonable, and we were pleased with their past work of our driveway installation, so we decided to get it done. The seal coat application was done within minutes. We were told to stay off the driveway for 24 hours. After the twenty four hours, the driveway looked wet and the tar topcoat was extremely tacky. So Sunday late afternoon we called the provider to see if they could provide information of why the driveway was not dry. Didn't hear back. On Monday evening thinking the driveway would be dry after 48 hours, my husband returned from work and parked on the driveway and left slight tire mark impressions. We called the office on Tuesday afternoon. The receptionist said she knew we called and said they had tried to call us back, but no message was left.( We have caller I.D., and I check my call log as well.) She said she would have someone call within the half hour. We waited two hours and called again, this time the receptionist got the one of the gentlemen who applied the seal coating. I explained now it was 72 hours later, the driveway was extremely tacky, and asked what could we do. They said they would come out the next morning and take a look.. They did come by the next morning, and they didn't seem too bothered by the marks left, and really couldn't explain why it still was not dry. They said they would stop around on Saturday and retouch the marks that were made. They never stopped back. The driveway took at least four more days to dry. We were disappointed they couldn't call back, provide answers, or stop back when they said they would. <br />"

"They were careful about edging and blowing the driveway, and they seal coated the edges by hand to ensure that no seal coat went on our front walkway. There were a few spots where the seal coat didn't bind the first time, but they came out and fixed it, no problem. These guys are honest professionals."

"The estimator, Dennis accommodated my scheduling requests, and changes in the contract, he was there as well, when the resurfacing started. My driveway needed a specific piece of machinery; so they used their subcontractor, which was excellent too. F&M came back 3 days later, backfilled, mulch, and seeded the bare spots, then a rep came by to check on the finished project. I love the look of my driveway now and would recommend F&M to friends and family!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Manchester, MD

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
