"Sometimes things don't go well...and when that happens, it's how a company responds that determines the whether to recommend them or not. A tree limb fell and tore a piece of gutter. Sam gave me a reasonable estimate for repair. I work nights and can have work done on Fridays only due to sleeping days. Sam worked with my schedule and sent a worker. When I saw the repair, I was NOT happy. My gutters are oversized and Sam's worker did the repair using a smaller gutter, which looked terrible. I called Sam and sent him pictures of the gutter. Look, things go wrong sometimes with every company you hire. When that happens, it's how the company responds that makes the difference between a company I'd hire again and one I'd warn friends away from. Sam sent a worker out on a Friday to accommodate my schedule. The repair was made with the proper-sized gutter, and Sam stood by his estimate although this project would not be a money-maker for him. I recommend Last Stop Roofing Company and if I need roof or gutter repair, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again."

The workers were very professional, friendly and made sure ask for my opinion where able (i.e. Which wood surface to show on posts - smooth or rough). They cleaned up everything when done. "Falling down plaster in my small foyer ceiling directed my attention to the flat copper roof above. The wood support under the copper in the affected corner was rotten. The first roofing contractor from whom I got an estimate told me I needed to have the masonry repaired before the roof could be replaced. I got the first roofing contractor's name from an internet search. An Angie's list internet search for copper roofs did not yield any contractors. Fortunately I received the Angie's List magazine and saw PZ's ad which mentioned copper roofs. After getting the masonry repaired I got PZ's and another estimate. The one from PZ Construction was the lowest. Before I signed the contract I asked Paul if he could give me an estimate for another small roof. We corresponded by e-mail and after sending him pictures he sent me an estimate for the second roof which also seemed quite reasonable. The work was started the following week and took about 4 days to complete both roofs. I asked Paul about putting additional insulation in between the rafters before the solid core insulation was installed. He told me if I supplied the insulation it could be put it in at no extra charge. The 2 workmen who did the work took about 4 days to complete the job, working steadily and leaving the area very neat every night when they left the job. Working with copper is definitely a skilled job and the workmen really knew what they were about. Because the roofs were off the second floor I was able to see their progress and was really impressed with their workmanship. The first copper roof lasted 80 years which Paul said was about typical for copper roofs in this climate. I'm hopeful that PZ's roof will last as long."

"Bill Bialk came to our home approximately 4 times before we ever signed a contract with him. He was extremely patient with us since this was a large project and a lot of money. Once we picked the window style, brand, color, and exterior color, he clarified everything with us 3 times to make sure we had the right windows, correct opening directions, and correct patio doors. When his install team was doing the work, you could tell they were hard workers and took their time with each window, which made us feel good. We were originally told the job would take 2 days, but it ended up taking 5. We had no problem with this because, again, they took their time with each window and door. During the install we had a few questions/concerns that came up -Bill was quick to drive over and answer any questions and concerns that same day. We must admit that we are very picky people and notice everything -there was some damaged wood on a few window moldings -Bill did not hesitate to send someone over to fix the damage. (We were expecting to have to be more "pushy" about the situation, but Bill didn't even hesitate to send someone over to fix the problems at his expense.) Truly, this is a good company with good people working for them! My only small comment would be that if you do have them install your windows, do not be surprised to find cigarette butts on the ground. Unfortunately, my son found a handful of butts and was playing with them. However, this was a small small minor comment compared to the BEAUTIFUL job that they completed!!! I would use them again in a heartbeat!"

"I highly recommend SPU. We used them for roofing. The owner is great to work with, he always answered my phone call when I called and showed up when he said he would show up. He came out to do a quote on Wednesday, materials were delivered that Friday and the roof was done by that Sunday afternoon. The crew was very respectable, they did a great job cleaning up after the job, there was not a piece of garbage or a nail to be found anywhere."
