"In addition to correcting the shoddy work performed by Basement Flood Protector, since BFP refused to, Crawlspace and Basement Waterproofing Solutions, Villa Park, IL, went far above their quote by installing drainboard, dealing with the ejection line and bubble pot -- not part of the job, as well as cutting and removing an old oil tank from another crawlspace and encapsulating the space.  Brian also offered advice on using a Ramset powder actuated nail driver in their concrete, they got me a spray foam kit at cost and dropped it off.  All of that for no extra charge possibly because they seemed to feel bad about my experience with their "competitor", and most of all, they made sure I was comfortable with their work.  I have already contacted them for some new work that is pending, and will do the same if anything else goes wrong with Basement Flood Protector's equipment or work.  I have no expectation that Basement Flood Protector would stand by anything else any more than they already did, and I could do without the abusive rudeness.  Save yourself the cash and hassle.  Call Brian at Crawlspace and Basement Waterproofing Solutions first."

"Literally a truckload of dirt and old insulation was removed from a crawlspace under a town house. Openings in the foundation were sealed or covered, the floor was swept clean and the crawlspace walls sprayed with insulating foam. 2-day job in tough conditions and with limited city parking, professionally and efficiently executed, indeed resulting in a perfect crawlspace. "We hired MasterCat because I have been having more and more problems with allergies, and a mold inspection found two kinds of mold that I'm allergic to. We also have five pets, I build furniture, and we have been remodeling our house, so I knew that the house was full of dust, dirt, and pet hair in addition to the mold.
Donny came out and checked out the house, using my mold inspection as a starting point. While in the basement he saw a spot on the ceiling that he thought might be mold and took an additional sample to make sure he knew about all of our issues. Then he gave me a proposal for cleaning the house, which included removing the mold, cleaning the ducts, resealing the grout in our shower, and cleaning all of the surfaces in the house where mold might grow. I was a bit skeptical when he told me that this would include all of my tools and the wood in my shop, but I shouldn't have been. They did an amazing job! The house is so clean that, if I didn't know better, I would think they threw out everything and bought new things to replace the old. They followed up with advice on how to keep mold out of our showers.
The remediation took three days, and I had to board our pets and a hotel for my husband and me, which took a lot of coordination, so I was worried when I found out that their crew's truck had broken down on the way to our house the first day. I assumed that they were going to have to reschedule, which would have cost me a lot of money. But instead they pulled a crew away from another job and they started the same morning. When that crew started, they realized that it was going to be a bigger job than they estimated, so they brought in additional people to help out and finished on schedule.
All in all, an excellent job from real professionals, and I'm very glad I chose them to do this work.

"A lot more to discuss about this than I would like. Drain tile construction seems fine, which is the most important part of this project by far! We will learn more upon a rainy season in the fall or spring. Demo was not as clean as we would have liked. We have steel studs in basement, so they pushed out walls to put drains to window wells behind electrical conduit for outlets. This ripped the drywall off of studs and pulled framing away from windows. We had to rerun electricity around the new drains and do some repairs because of this. If we had wood studs, we do not think that they would not have been able to cause as much damage, so this shortcut cost us some work. There is also a small dent in our ceiling on the main floor from when they were carrying materials. Dust was everywhere. They left the door to the basement open during demo and construction so dust was all over our main floor. Also, they mixed the concrete in our garage, so everything we move out of the basement to avoid dust is now covered in concrete dust. This is very difficult to remove since mixing with water will form more concrete. They asked what we need from them to fix this, but we do not see a good solution other than wiping down each individual item ourselves. It's a lot of work we spent a lot of time trying to avoid by following Alex's recommendations. There was a miscommunication and Reliable Basements did not put the new sump pump in, plus the check valves were put 2 inches from the lid of the sump pit leaving the pit inaccessible to us. After several attempts at communicating with them, they responded and replaced it and fixed the check valve placement in a timely manner. They missed a crack in the foundation, but were quick to come out and fill it for the same price they offered during the drain tile installation."

I was concerned about the project because it was a big job but they reassured me along the way and I saw first hand how efficiently and professionally coordinated the whole process. "It went very well.  The employees have a fine attention to detail.  I ordered some moulding product online.  And had hoped to install  it myself ( I sometimes consider myself handy) Fortunately, I hired them! It would of been a nightmare for me and a project I would of never finished.  They noticed that the moulding thickness was not the same across all the pieces that I ordered, which would of caused real issues when installing.  They were able to fix the moulding and make my formal dining room which doubles as my client meeting room GORGEOUS! Quickly they moved onto the stair reconstruction.  I love it!!!
