"We hired Scott Hall Remodeling because of the glowing reports in Angie's List. Our original project plan involved replacing tiled walls in the master bath with a product called Onyx. However, our fears of mold and rot behind the walls in the shower stall were realized when Scott's worker, Seth, stripped them to the studs during demolition. The products used during construction in 2004 had failed.  (I hate tiles and grout). Water soaked the wallboard and fiberglass insulation, leaked into the crawlspace below the shower, and reached exterior sheeting. Needless to say, the aforementioned mold was everywhere. The plywood sheeting was so rotten I was able to puncture it with a screwdriver and touch the vinyl siding that covered the outside of the house. Seth was therefore required to do some work not included in the original estimate. He worked quickly and skillfully to remove vinyl siding and replace moldy sheeting in a single day to save us as much money as possible. He installed new 2X4 studs to address any suspected structural issues. He finally removed the mold before resuming the original work of installing new wallboard and the Onyx products. He finished the whole thing in a week. We couldn't be happier with the result. The tiles and grout on the walls that annoyed me for so many years have been replaced with a smooth, WATERPROOF product that looks beautiful. The cheap plastic pan that sounded like Niagra Falls when the water hit it has been replaced with a solid, stone-like product that makes us feel like we are showering at the Ritz. The flimsy shower door and glass walls supported by U-channels have been replaced by heavy, solid glass that does not trap water in unseen places and spawn the growth of mildew and other disgusting stuff that emerges during cleaning. Seth was meticulous and conscientious in his work. For example, he accidentally chipped a window sill during demolition. He reported it to me and built a new sill to replace it. I admit the numerous crooked contractor horror stories on TV made me wary of entering into this project. However, Scott Hall's courteous, soft-spoken manner quickly put my mind at ease. I did not feel like I was talking to a sleazy, high-pressure salesman who might disappear after taking some of my money and punching a few holes in my walls. Scott Hall is a professional who, in my opinion, is the best at what he does. I have already recommended him to others, and I will certainly call no one else when it comes time to do another remodeling project. Scott's many glowing reports in Angie's List were mentioned at the beginning. Add this one to the pile. <br />"

"The person who made the appointment was super helpful and friendly (wish I remembered her name). She was able to provide me with estimates/costs for services. A couple days before the appointment, I received a email with an exact arrival time, AND a photo w/bio on the repair person that would be coming out. Not a four hour window appointment time, but a set time! The photo and bio was a very amazing touch! This is a excellenct safety feature, and it's nice to know how experienced the person is that's doing the repair. The morning of the appointment, the service person called to say they were running 15 minutes, appologized, and made sure it was ok. They then arrived exactly when they said they would. In all my expieriences with repair people (and it's been a lot lately) I've never had a set appointment or had them arrive exactly when they said they would. Even if they had ran late, I would have understood, because as homeowners, we all know that sometimes what we think will take 15 minutes to fix can sometimes turn into a hour long project! They wore covers on their shoes, were very professional, and explained everything. they took video and photos, and then explained what they saw. We didn't need any repairs, except for the outside cap to be replaced (which we already knew). we had been concerned about rust & water leaks, but they explained what it was from, and eased our concerns. Here is where I'm sure they could have told us these were things that needed repairs, in order to make more money, but they didn't. Which shows they are a very honest company! They sent a follow up email with the detailed receipt, and a copy of the photos. Before scheduling the appointment, I had priced around for the inspection and cap replacement. Doctor Flue was about $20 more, but with the service we received, it was well worth it! We actually had an appointment scheduled with another company, but then I looked up reviews on line. I found a couple nagative reviews (there's always those few people that no matter what, you can never make happy), but it was how that company responded to the reviews that concerned me. Mean responses! Made me worry, what if we have a real issue, will they just respond mean to my complaint. I decided to sign up on Angie's list, and found Doctor flue. They had way more years experience, a lot more reviews, and for the couple negative reviews (there's always those few-can't make everyone happy) Doctor Flues response to those reviews was very nice and professional! "I'm sorry that XYZ happened, please give us a call to resolve", compared to the other company that was like "well fine, we don't need your business anyway". It also took me two and half days to be able to get ahold of that company, in order to just cancel the appointment with them!! That said company (not going to name) is on Angie's list, so make sure to read all reviews before you hire anyone. We have a gas fireplace that needs repair/inspection, and we will be having Doctor Flue back out to complete these services. We would have had them done at time of other repairs, but we had been using it, so it was hot."
