"My house is less than 5 years old and needed electrical wiring to run a mini-split AC for a 16 x 10 Shed on the opposite side of the house which required adding a distribution panel and the required electrical wiring across the attic. Brite Electric was the best and honest of them all. Pete is very knowledgeable and a total professional that explained step by step of the installation process. He was quick to respond, on time and very easy to work with. Their work was top notch and price was very reasonable. I would hire them again in the future and highly recommend them."

"Allgood is a great electric company. The gentlemen sent to work on installation and upgrading panels did a terrific job. They were professional, focused, polite, and most informative as they worked. Their pricing was exactly what I thought it should be, which was great. I have a new list of items I want them to work on. Can't wait."

"Provider arrived by himself and inspected our electrical panel.  He said the outdoor outlets were not working because the Ground Fault Interrupter receptacle needed replacing.  Before he finished telling me that another vehicle showed up with two guys - an older gentleman and a young man.  The provider said he needed to go purchase the receptacle and it would cost  us an additional $60.
All men left and returned 30 minutes or more later (we live no more than 3 miles from a Home Depot and less than that to a Wal-Mart, that also carries that sort of stuff).
After they returned, the older man left and the young one was the one installing It took a lot longer than it should have because of the shopping trip, but everything works now.

"Outstanding communication and very professional service. I would highly recommend Mr. Electric. Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work. Wish all home service providers did the same. Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early). He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage. To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work. No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall."

"Very dependable and on time. Very satisfied with the quality of work. Didn't just put a band aid on the issue but did extensive troubleshooting and fixed it right. This is an old house and he had to make three fixtures work from incorrectly wired wall switches in an old house, added four ceiling can-lights and run new wire, and install a couple of smart wall light switches in a hard to replace location. The ceiling lights are great and really made a difference in our living room."

"I recently had a light fixture installed in my office and an electrical outlet relocated to a different area, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The electrician was professional, punctual, and paid close attention to every detail. The installation was clean, the work was completed efficiently, and everything looks and functions perfectly. It’s clear they take pride in their craftsmanship and customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality electrical work. Thank you for doing such an amazing job!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Marion, TX

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
