"It went OK. The advertisement on Angie's list said more could be added at an increased price. Before purchasing from Angie's list I called to find out what it would cost to double the order. I was given a price on the phone from the owner. I placed my order on Angie's list, called the owner back and he told me I misunderstood the increased price and gave me one almost double what he originally told me. I had only the original order delivered and spread. I purchased additional mulch on my own and spread it myself. In his defense I will say that English is not his first language and he may have misunderstood what I was asking for originally but still it was frustrating. I also asked several times for an approximate time delivery would be made on the day he selected and never received a response. As a result I got up early and spent the entire day waiting. They finally arrived around 4:00 in the afternoon. They also applied the mulch too deep around the base of the trees and I have had to pull it away so it does not kill the trees. A landscaper should know better"

Emerald provided a competent, professional team that not only built a beautiful walkway, but also buried downspout pipes to prevent excessive runoff. "Working with Mike (the owner), Jose (the lead craftsman) and Angel (his skilled assistant) was an absolute pleasure.  Mike is a very knowledgeable and nice person.  He responded well to all of our questions and concerns, and educated us about the intricacies of stone work.  He made sure that we understood precisely what to expect on this project.  Jose is an exceptional artist.  He has a great eye for setting stone and for details that make a difference.  For example, he shaped the end of the walkway as it met the stoop in a way that makes it quite aesthetically pleasing.  Moreover, we had not even thought of this or asked for it.  Both Jose and Angel did exceptional work in selecting and arranging both the flagstone (pavers) and the fieldstone (which went on the risers.  The result in front and on the side is exceptional.  The side was a half moon, and Jose and Angel cut and arranged the stone perfectly.  Moreover, both of these highly skilled men were very pleasant to work with.  They always showed up promptly and cleaned up very carefully every day.  We were thoroughly impressed with their total professionalism, and would use them again in any future projects. Mike clearly takes pride in his company's work.  He stopped by to make sure that we were happy with the finished project.  Not only did we tell him that this was a very positive experience with Maxsell, but told him that we would definitely call him for any future stone work."

"I met with Andrew a few months before the work was to begin to discuss options.  In August 2014 he installed a long french drain that emptied into the woods and down the ravine on my property behind the house.  As sometimes happens with these things, the system did not really get a good test until today.   We had a storm cell over our neighborhood that dumped a ton of water in my yard in a very short period of time.  Andrew's drain sucked it up without a problem and moved the water as advertised.  I should have done this years ago!
