"Rutland may be good at some things, but did not seem to have the knowledge or techniques to control rats, especially when the rats had moved inside for the winter. They were unable or unwilling to find where the rodents were entering the home, and missed at least two entry points. After waiting 3 weeks with zero results to show for the money we'd spent, I hired another company. They proposed a clear plan that explained the course of their treatment, which has followed their time-line. Rats are hard to eliminate once they get inside a home. But nothing Rutland did would have eliminated them. In fact, because they did nothing to seal the home, we could have been feeding new animals forever. A lot of wasted time, anxiety, and money. "

They did an excellent job, and we subsequently retained them for annual maintenance. Recently (May 2023), however, when we asked them to help us redesign a portion of our back yard, they hesitated but then finally provided a proposal, which we accepted. Less than a week later, without explanation, we were contacted and told they would not be doing the job and our annual lawn service would be discontinued. Despite several attempts, no further communication or explanation was provided. We don't know if the business is now defunct or if they simply decided they no longer wanted our business. We would have been ok with any reasonable explanation, but the lack of communication is highly unprofessional and frustrating as we now need to find an alternative service provider mid-way through the lawncare season. "Joel their sales rep assured us our apartments would be rotated so the inside of each unit was checked at least every six months. Got the bait and switch bc they never did this and we had a cockroach infestation that went on for a year. They lied to me and then their manager claimed “we don’t see it in the contract”. I want a refund. You’ve been doing nothing productive. I can lay my own ant traps for less than $2k a year."
