"Fantastic company. This is the second time we used them and will not hesitate to use them again when the need arises. They do a top notch job with clean-up as well. If the tree wasn't missing one wouldn't know that they had been here. Thank you so much for all your hard work - AGAIN!!"

"It was GREAT! Bob responded to our call in a day or two, answered all of our questions upfront, walked through what we wanted, and quickly provided a detailed estimate. Mike came the week before the installation to do a detailed site survey and mark the fence-line. The 2-man installation crew showed up the next week and did an amazing job... removing the old fencing, clearing brush and even small trees, and installing our new fence. Not only was everyone from FINE Fence excellent from a technical perspective, but everyone was also very personable and professional. Given the quality of their work, we don't expect to be needing fence work any time soon, but if we do... we'll call FINE!"

"Excellent! We were so apprehensive to build a custom home when we couldn't be there every day to oversee the project( we were 5 states away). Mike kept us up to date with photo's and progress reports. He met up with us to select finishes and was so helpful giving us tips and recommendations. Top quality workmanship. Truly and very happy with our forever home."

"Eddie, came out, suggested reversing the planks as it had worked for another client of his. I also told him I really needed to watch my funds as I am recently unemployed. Eddie worked with me and the fee was acceptable and he was able to make a profit (which is still what I wanted him to do). This past wind, nothing came off the side of the house...I'm waiting for one of those really big ones like you see a woman flying in the air on a bicycle with a dog named Toto in her basket type of winds and that will be the test :-). For now, it is holding up. I'm very happy with the work."

"This is a top-notch company without a doubt. The plans were well laid out and even included a drawing that gave us an idea of what the finished product would look like. The design was simple but elegant which is exactly what we had hoped for. The price was a bit high given our budget but, when I checked around different sites on the "average" cost of stone work, it seemed reasonable. The workmen spent a day removing the old tree and shrubs and poured a short cement wall around the perimeter of the planting bed. The next day they used mortar to affix beautiful stone to the cement wall. Slate pieces were placed on the top of the short wall all around the perimeter. <br /> The finished bed is exquisite to look at and is the envy of all our neighbors. The designer, Jane, was a gem to work with and we anticipate asking her to design something for our backyard in a few years when we are ready for that project. She found us just the right tree (Autumn Moon Japanese Maple) for the bed and goes beautifully with the brick of our townhome. She selected some shrubs and small plants and left enough room for annual flowers which was perfect. For the large pot we have in a niche by the front entrance, she selected a unique Japanese white pine that gives that spot an artistic flair and makes the whole front look elegant and serene. We would use this company (and the designer) again in the future without reservation. <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Martinsburg, WV

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
