Carol was very helpful in taking a look at what demolition work needed to be done and getting us connected with The Tile Shop for tile purchase. Demolition was quick and clean. "I had an unusual situation in that the floor in my house is supported by floor trusses 24" on center with a span of 24 feet and an OSB subfloor. This results in a floor that flexes more than most. I was concerned about both the weight of the finished tile job (resulting in floor sag) and whether the tile would crack over time. I interviewed seven tilers in all, because every one had a different idea on how to do the job. Most of them seemed to want to do the job the same way they do every job, without being able to address my specific situation. Dave was the only tiler that could explain the pros and cons of each method and recommend the best method for me, as well as the best way to reinforce the subfloor. His recommendation also matched the research I had done and the conclusion I had reached. He stays current on new tiling products and methods, unlike the other tilers I interviewed. For example, there are four different kinds of tile backer board on the market for showers. Dave has experience tearing out and retiling leaking shower walls and could tell me first hand how each kind of backer holds up over time as well as its pros and cons. The other tilers just use one kind of backer board on all jobs. The work that Dave did was excellent. He has a good eye for tile layout and aesthetics. I have received compliments on the tiled floors from most new visitors. The only caveat I will mention is that Dave (at this writing anyway) does his tiling part time and has a lot on his plate, so scheduling may be an issue for some. In my case, I was aware of this up front and I was ok on giving him flexibility on when to complete the work. I got a great tile job at a good price and I'm very satisfied with the work."

"The staff were very prompt in responding. We walked through each area and discussed issues. The carpets had never been professionally cleaned and we wasn't sure they could be brought back. WOW...They did a fantastic job. There were a few stains which didn't come out - but the guys told me that ahead of time - that's what rugs are for - right?!. I am so impressed. Some of the stains we weren't sure were able to be removed were gone. They were very easy to deal with. I will definitely use them again. The cost of the service was more than what we first discussed. The original estimate over the phone was close, except didn't include a protective coating. "We used Northland Coating this year to seal coat our basement floor. It will last for decades. It all started when we had some basement flooding and then decided to use Luxury Vinyl Plank on our basement floor. We purchased the flooring (special order so it couldn't be returned) and then started tearing up carpeting and pad. What a disaster. Whoever glued the pad down must have danced across the floor with glue. Circular patterns, waves and open areas - no logic. The pad was a nightmare to get up, especially where they just seemed to pool the glue. But that wasn't the worst part. The floor was so uneven with lots of valleys and a really high spot in the middle. We couldn't lay the flooring on that. So we rented a grinder and tried to even out a lot of it. It was too much variance. I started calling places to level the floor with fill. Either they were booked out for 6-8 weeks or one company wanted $6000. Everyone else was $2400 - $3000. Then I obtained two quotes for sealing the floor instead. One of the companies we previously had done business with came in at almost double the price of Northland. Plus they wanted to speak to my husband too. Seriously, if I am paying why should you need to speak to anyone else? Northland was great. Justin came out and quoted our project. We were originally going to have most of the basement coated in 2 phases since we had very large items that couldn't be moved out (a piano was one of them). There was one area we were going to leave carpeted but ultimately we had the basement done in 3 phases. Scheduling was easy. It is a messy project as they do some additional grinding. They try to keep the dust to a minimum but it is dust and gets around. Justin gave me a link to the supply company and I was able to pick a custom mixed color for our floor. You can choose from many colors or design your own. You can also choose the flake size. The supply company also had a tool where you could upload your photo and show the floor color in that space. It was easy. Choose some texture in the floor or it will be slippery. The floor looks great. I even have the piano metal wheels just sitting on the floor and they are fine. We scratched the floor slightly moving a heavy object but it is hard to see unless the light hits it just right. This is a solid floor. It has been months now and it is holding up just fine. Plus it is waterproof. Jake and his team did a fine job. They completed all 3 phases and cleaned up nicely. We do have seams at the phase transitions but you won't have them if you complete the work in one phase. There was some chipping at the tile transition to the bathroom but Justin offered to pay to fix it. We just negotiated the price down for phase three. I was able to fix it myself using some supplies from Ace Hardware and a YouTube video."

"Easy quote obtained on line and then easy cleaning scheduled over phone - very friendly and helpful. Arrived on time and were very fast. However, carpets still had stains and seemed as if stains were more visible after the cleaning. Also, a stain occured after the cleaning that was not there prior to the cleaning. Carpets were very stiff and scratcy after the cleaning - maybe too much soap was left in them? Not very impressed and will not use again."
