"All Colorado Radon Mitigation Inc did an excellent job! The gentlemen that performed the work took extra care to make sure that the routing of the PVC was done correctly and still achieve the Radon level was going to be below the 4 pCi/L level that EPA requires. They did a very good job with putting the vent in the roof correctly and making sure that no leaks would come from their work. The Radon level that I recorded prior to their work was 15-17 pCi/L and now its down .3-.4. So yes they know what they are doing and they do it very well!"

"We were amazed and absolutely thrilled with the work done by Ace Radon. After I called, they set up a time to come out and see what was involved. The estimate was emailed later that same day. When we approved, they scheduled a time to do the mitigation. Both times men were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and neat. They explained what they were doing and answered all our questions. The before radon tested 7.6, and afterwards tested .7 Needless to say, we'd highly recommend them!"

"Phenomenal! I called Doug on a Saturday afternoon with the intention of leaving a voicemail for him and two other inspectors, who were referred to me by my realtors Babs and Craig Oliver. He answered immediately and spent the next half hour walking through the process with me, addressing all my concerns, answering new-home-buyer questions and determining pricing. Within minutes, I knew Doug was of the utmost quality when it came to his knowledge, work ethic and customer service; thus, I never called another company. A week later, Doug was at the home early and prepared to discuss the 11 page engineer report (that was included in the seller disclosure) I had sent him beforehand. From there, he allowed my wife and I to tag along on his entire inspection (except the roof), constantly asking ridiculously naive questions. Doug never faltered. He was able to clearly articulate each problem's degree of severity, potential cost and suggestions for repair or improvement with specific names of companies he respects. All the while, laughing along with my "dad jokes" (as my wife calls them). Haha. Later that night, we received a thorough report describing everything we had talked about during the inspection, including pictures, recommendations and the radon test output. This is my first home-buying experience so I have no comparison to other inspectors, but I am, however, highly inquisitive and attentive to detail. I can promise you that Doug Fast accomplished everything I wanted and more at a great price. I intend to continue using Doug for my own inspections and for his knowledge of external specialists. Plus, I would recommend him to everyone I know. Thanks again for your help, Doug!"

"Had an awesome experience with these guys. We had to do both radon mitigation and sump pump installation. I called 5-10 different places to get quotes, they were the most affordable by a decent margin. Kratos was really great- he was on time, very friendly, wasn't annoyed by our dogs constantly being at his side, etc. He finished the job very quickly and gave great education on how the system works and what we should be looking for to ensure it's functioning well. Additionally, he randomly fixed an electrical issue we were having with some outlets! Totally not his job, but I asked him if he knew a good electrician and by doing some basic trouble-shooting he was able to fix it and save us the cost of having an electrician come by! Highly recommend these guys, no reservations whatsoever"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Mead, CO

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
