We went to the Bay State Bath showroom, as like so many others, we saw all the commercials, so we wanted to check them out. We actually met Jennifer Bylo while there, and we arranged for a home visit by Mike Doucie. Mike was excellent and professional, and friendly in his approach with us, and listened to our thoughts and provided many suggestions. He drafted a proposal and a layout for us. I especially love my overhead shower head and the sliding glass Barn Doors. They make my tiny bathroom seem a bit larger. Their crews did efficient work and were experienced craftsmen . "As all the previous reviewers have said, DC 57 Construction is definitely a 5 star company. Lucas came to my home 3 times and helped me plan out the job. The job included: rebuilding a wood ladder to the upstairs loft, installing a railing and a new door in the loft, and adding shelves in the bathrooms. In addition, Lucas installed two railings for my back deck. Lucas and Tiago are both finish carpenters and they do excellent work at a very reasonable price. I am having Lucas come back soon to install a new screen door. Hiring Lucas and Tiago was definitely a great decision as my home looks much better."

"My pipes froze and burst on a Saturday. Reyes Contractors were working at another site but arrived promptly on Monday morning to replace the pipes. They removed sections of the wall so that insulation could be installed. They began the repair process. An Insurance Adjuster inspected the damage. Once my insurance company sent the money for full repairs, I asked Wil Reyes to come and give me an estimate. William Reyes has a great team of contractors and painters. They even moved my furniture into and out of the Pod. My ceiling was repaired. Installation was inserted into the vulnerable areas of the walls and the ceiling. New sheetrock was applied, , sanding was done, the walls and ceiling were primed and painted. My living room was like new! I asked if I could add installation of a dishwasher and painting my bathroom. The guys removed old border, sanded and painted. All of this was done at a reasonable price. This team works hard. I would definitely recommend them."

"Carlos was highly professional, courteous, pleasure to deal with. I selected the color, they managed to partly do the job before I understood that the color was wrong. Carlos has given me good recommendations before the start, I did not follow them and then regretted as a result. I made a decision to repaint with the recommended paint, was glad I did that. Carlos was polite and very quickly did the repainting without any aggravations. Also, a small tile job in the bathrooms was done - tile strips one tile wide was put on both sides of the tubs in both bathrooms. It was well done. Carlos came with sufficient number of people in the team so they managed to complete the job in 3 days. I am very satisfied with the job he has done. As to the pricing, he is on the level of other painters I called. I put "B" above because a little lower pricing would be nicer."

It went well. They arrived on time and we had a discussion about the roof. I filled him on my questions and my concerns with a small leak I had in the upstairs bathroom.

In about 10 minutes they were up on the roof walking around and taking pictures.  They gave me a review of my roof and what they saw as an issue.  They were very "just the facts" about it which I appreciated.

They quickly diagnosed the leak issue as an aging, cracking rubber seal around my roof sewer vent. They put rubber cement around the faulty rubber seal to create a temporary workaround until it can be properly fixed. 

They found that I have 2 shingles that are being pushed up by the underlying plywood. They also sealed those where the shingle glue has stopped being adhesive to each other. 

They also diagnosed that when my roof was originally shingled, there was no tar paper barrier put underneath the shingles, which was an eye opener.

They inspected my dormers and chimney flashing and said that was in good shape.

The inspection took about 1 hour, they answered a flurry of questions from me.  They said it was time for a new roof, which I already knew (about 20 years old now) and sent me an estimate including ridge vent installation and the overall cost.  He also sent me the pictures in email that I requested of the shingles and the sewer vent seal.

The quote was in range with what I understand to be what the cost for my roof will be about: $7800.  I expect my roof to be in the range of $6500-9000 with estimates and this came right in the middle. It was a competitive offer.

We are not ready to replace yet, but based on the experience, when we decide next year to replace, I will have them included in the bids as they were professional and DID solve my leak issue.  We have had several rain storms since and the leak has ceased.
