"Altitude did a fantastic job. We had specified putting ice and water barrier on the entire roof and they did great with that. We had asked for "dutch weave" pattern, with random spacing of an occasional extra shake in a course. They did beautifully on that. Altitude uses yellow Alaskan cedar shakes, which we were unfamiliar with, but they are excellent and it's clear the roof will last for a long long time. They worked very long and productive days, always cleaning up well each evening. They even worked 6 hours the Saturday it was nearly 100 degrees! We could not be happier with the job they did and would highly recommend them."

They even removed a small area where they had installed the wrong shingles and replaced them with the right shingles, all at no extra charge. The new roof looks great. The only problem was cleanup. "I went with Ken because of all the roofers I spoke to, he was the only one that wanted to address my concern about attic ventilation.  All of the other roofers just wanted to slap shingles up.  Ken, on the other hand, actually looked inside the attic and came up with a plan to get better ventilation in the attic.  With the winters we've been having, I wanted better ventilation to help mitigate any issues with ice dams.  His plan was to open up the soffit along the whole front and back sides of the house and put in a perforated material to allow much more ventilation than the small vents every 8 or so feet that I had.   Ken also had no problem pulling back the siding by the dormer windows and shed dormer because there was no flashing.  I even asked Ken if he could go overkill and use 12' of ice and water barrier from the bottom of the roof.  All of my concerns were addressed and I felt comfortable letting Ken's crew do the work.
I am pleased with the work done.  The roof/skylight was complete in one day, but everything else took a little longer than expected.  I had asked to have the siding by the dormers to be pulled back so that flashing could be put in place.  I had issues with leaking by the dormer windows because there was no flashing.  However, apparently my siding was a non-standard size and had to be special ordered.  This delayed the process for a bit.  Now the work is complete, and I'm happy everything turned out great!

"they replaced the shingles on top of a bay window where there had been an ice dam and added underlayment. The siding on the house is pre-colored Hardie board, while doing the work two of the Hardie boards broke. They replaced the broken boards with two primed but unpainted Hardie boards . They never asked if we had more pre-colored boards in the basement. We did! I asked them to make this right by pulling off the two unpainted panels and putting in the factory painted ones - The asked for an extra 650 which seems like a lot Before the job the communication was great, lots of pictures, but they did not say Hardie board is likely to break - which would would have gotten me to point out where the spares were After the wrong boards went up they were responsive and polite but not helpful The contract that i signed said they were not responsible for painting any siding, so they were technically right but they left me on my own"

They were professional and had to do a fair amount of restoring of rotted wood and had to remove three layers of asphalt shingles off my old garage. Anyway, they did this for $3,310 for a 300 sq ft roof. That was a far lower estimate than the other places that I got estimates from. The quality of the work is wonderful and they did an excellent job of cleaning the interior of my garage because when you think about it, for most roof replacements, the dirt is up in your attic. My garage is a workshop with benches and shelves everywhere and they did a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. I give these guys an unqualified recommendation."
