"Appleton Campbell just did a complicated 2-day gas furnace/AC unit installation attached our home. It was, probably, the most professional and well-handled vendor experience I have ever had, particularly with some complications that occurred due to things found after the old system was removed. From the sales process to the pre-project staff to the office staff who alerted me each time the crew was heading to my home, to the on-site crew of Mike W., Danny R. and Jake A., the experience was A+. Even when the one issue was presented, they came up with a solution and I remained confident they would. They were extremely clean and neat, during and after they were done. I did getting three bids for this and they were slightly higher than the others, but I felt more comfortable and frankly, I believe I got my moneys worth as they also had to fabricate and redo a complicated return and vent line, and they also moved the gas line, refrigerant line and other conduits/poles/switches to a more convenient area than with my prior (similar but older) system. In short, I felt like the value was there. They also included a Home Savings Agreement for one year and left me with a consolidated notebook of all relevant documents. Cheapest is not always better, and with all they did, the pricing was very, very close. I've known AC for years in the community, but only used them on a couple of occasions. I've become a huge fan and will use them again (I have other systems!)."

"This is the 2nd or 3rd time that we used Jimmy and couldn't have been more pleased. My house felt like a sauna and we were desperate for Jimmy to come over. "Overall everything went very well. The work was done on a 1903 Dupont Circle townhouse which automatically present many obstacles that that do not apply to apartments or homes in the suburbs such as parking, traffic, unique structural quirks, etc.  Due to our city location it was decided that work would begin at 6am to dismantle existing AC unit on the roof as well as the furnace in our 4 ft high attic crawl space and have a crane lower the new unit on our roof by 7am in order not to obstruct the one way traffic on my street. I was honestly shocked to see the technician waiting outside my house at 5:45AM. Unfortunately the crane that AES contracted to arrive at 7am did not arrive until 10am but they were able to negotiate the tall trees on the street and complete their job in 30 minutes. Had we known the crane would not arrive until 10am we all could have slept in a couple more hours sleep, but thats life.  In order to have access to the attic crawl space, and install the new furnace and remove the old one the existing ceiling panel had to be removed and the workers had to manually enlarge the hole in the ceiling. This was unfortunate but necessary. The workers to care to put up plastic up to minimize the mess. NOTE: Per contract I knew that AES was not responsible for repairing the ceiling. I had to pay a carpenter $300. to sheet rock and paint ceiling damage at completion of job. AES worked from 6am until 7pm on day 1 and returned on day 2 to complete the job. All AES employees that I came in contact with - including John Smith, the president who came by on day 2 to check on the job - were nothing but professional and polite. Workers even offered to wear paper booties in the house to minimize construction dust which was appreciated but not necessary.  I would be comfortable in recommending AES to anyone."

"Mr. Brian Langford made all the arrangements with the installation of our gas hot water heater from Lowe's via McCarthy plumbing. He was extremely helpful,patient, professional and available to answer all questions. Due to his approach to his work, we will be working with both companies in the future. Only concern I have is the warranty between Lowe's and AO Smith Hot water heaters. Once the heater is installed, Lowe's severs ties. If there is a problem with the hot water heater, you cannot return it to Lowe's although it was purchased through them, this is clearly stated on the Hot water heater in bold writing."

"I had some water collecting in my hot water heater pan, and had R Plumber come out. The pros: They come right away when I called first thing in the morning, they had the tools to fix the issue quickly, and the price was about where I suspected it would be. The cons: The first diagnostic was that my (less than two years old) water heater was leaking. When I told them that didn't make sense, they then did some more investigating and realized the condensation line from my AC unit wasn't draining out of my condo and was backing up into my pan, which was correct, however the suggestion was that the installation of my water heater was correct and that the heater and pan needed to be elevated so the water didn't back up. When I again said that didn't make sense as this was my second summer with the AC running and I hadn't had an issue before, they said there was a possibility the line was clogged. I had mentioned that someone in my building had a similar issue at the beginning of the conversation, but it seemed to take a long time to get to the actual issue, which is what I had suspected from the very beginning. While we ultimately got to the heart of the problem and fixed it quickly, it was a frustrating for me to have to push back so much to get to the right answer."
