"This was a very complicated concrete installation involving moving equipment and several points of water flow management to keep water flowing away from the house. Mr. Hernandez and his crew handled this job as well as setting some fence posts and moving some gravel for me that wasn't even related to the job. Excellent!"

"Maxey Contracting did an excellent job for us. Blake & Jason were awesome. They are honest, dependable, professional and hard-working. They tore out an old 10x10 deck and installed a beautiful 16x16 composite deck. We were so happy and satisfied with our new deck, that we hired them to install a 40 foot block retaining wall and do a landscaping project. Overall, they did an exceptional job for us and we would highly recommend them for your next project. We'll definitely call them back, when we need their help. What more could someone ask for from a contractor!"

"Kevin is a friendly, knowledgeable professional.  He understood our problem and recommended several guttering solutions to solve it.  The seamless gutters were ordered and installed within 10 days or so.  Company kept in contact during this time to update on the status of order.  Highly recommend this fine company.

"This spring in Dallas was **** for rain and wind, and I was starting to lose some ties on my roof. I called Jess, because his business has been a long-term supporter of the Dallas Harlequins, and he got me set up with my insurance, and the process was on with this request: "As soon as the weather allows, gitter done" (because for weeks, you couldn't). And that he did. He started work on Friday, June 7, got nearly all of it done in one day, but was cut off by my neighbor at 7PM, because "it's 7PM" and she was adamant. I'm tremendously grateful that Jess came and finished the job Saturday morning, because we all know what the storm-pocalypse was like on Sunday, June 9. I suspect there are still neighborhoods that are recovering. I can't imagine the damage that might have been done to an unfinished roof. So thanks, Jess for getting after this and following through to gitter done! (Plus, with the radiant barrier, my electrical bill is down, and the new tiles are so much more massively durable, I can be confident in another very long run before roofing maintenance.)"

"Demolition of a section of my old driveway and sidewalk, then installation of new concrete, was not all of the several projects that Gerson Montano did for me over a period of about 4-5 weeks. I purchased an old house with some serious issues. Besides the concrete work, Montano Construction crews removed old porch pillars from where they were perched on a crumbling brick planter box (which he also demolished), reinstallation of new pillars. Power washing, scraping and complete painting of the entire exterior of the house, along with cleaning up many issues that cropped up in the process of the scraping and caulking. Next project: very serious erosion control project in a deep ditch across the entire back of my property. Scraped entire area, including hillsides on either side, installed four (count them, FOUR!) layers of rock to create a barrier to the rushing water that pours through that area in our big rainfalls. He also took down two large dead trees from the back hillsides. Gerson has a gift for the details, for paying attention, for seeing what needs to be done and coming up with a creative way to fix long-standing issues. His crew was cheerful, always smiling, and worked harder than any human beings ought to work in a day. I never had to guess where my contractors were ... because they were RIGHT HERE through the whole of all three projects. This is a company I will call on for anything I can think of (next project, the installation of trees and grass), and feel sure I can trust the quality and timeliness of the work. They will be there when they say they'll be here, or let you know immediately if something happens. No two-timing of clients: when he's working for you, YOU are the project he works on, not three at once while being unavailable for most. I cannot say enough good things about Gerson Montano and his smiling crews. The company itself is professionally run by Gerson himself. Nothing was done without a contract being signed and price agreed upon. Anything unusual occurring ... addendums to the contract were also signed. Nothing was left as a surprise or shock at the end. Do not hesitate to call this company for all your construction/demolition/remodeling needs. You will not be sorry."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Mexia, TX

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
