"Our dryer was running but not heating up. We found Alstate on Angie's List and called them Monday morning. We called before they were open, so their answering service took a message. They called us back the same morning and scheduled a service call for Tuesday evening between 5:00 and 7:00. They gave us a $25.00 discount for being Angie's List members. They showed up and diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning control board. They do not carry the part, so they had to order it. They worked with us to allow us time to decide if we wanted to repair the dryer or replace it. They told us to give them a call if we wanted them to order the part. They were very professional, and did not pressure us to make a decision. We decided to go ahead with the repair, so we called them the following morning. They ordered the part, which arrived by Friday. They returned Friday morning and completed the repair. They were up-front about how much everything would cost, and they charged exactly what they said they would. We will definitely use them again if we need another appliance repair.

They completed the job in less than one day and even hauled the old unit away. When the initial inspection of the unit was completed, the technician discussed all of the possibilities with the repair. He was honest with me and suggested replacing the unit and the furnace as well while he was there. I like that when he gave me the estimate, both the technician and I signed it. "I was advised by another HVAC service company that I needed to replace the condenser motor and fan on our cooling system. I was provided an estimate in excess of $1,000. So, I opted for a second opinion. I contacted Kirk Wiesman at New Climate. Kirk evaluated the unit that same day and stated that it is difficult to predict when the motor may fail. With young children in my home, I prefer to error on the side of caution and wanted the motor replaced if I could afford to do so. Kirk stated that the fan was fine and did not need to be replaced. As promised, Kirk provided later that same day an estimate to replace the motor ($393). We agreed upon a date and time for the work to be completed. Kirk showed up on time and installed a direct replacement (original equipment) motor.  Kirk explained the charges, which matched the estimate.  Kirk also explained the warranty on this work."

However, after having someone else check out the same problem they were able to identify the problem and had explained it was something related to a switch, of which I felt he should have been able to find being that he was an electrician."
