"Rich came out and noticed my chimney had excessive chimney cracks which was allowing sulfur gases into my home, we had Rich install a chimney liner to prevent any more issue. Rich was very professional and very fair on his prices! I I highly recommend using Exclusive sweeps for any chimney needs!!"

"We needed a bathroom floor replaced, and we contacted Tony’s Tile Works. Tony quickly provided us with a detailed estimate and explained every step of the process. The job was completed on time and the finished product was nicer than we could have imagined. Polite, hardworking, diligent, and very well organized; I would highly recommend Tony for your next tile job."

"<p>Removal and installation of  new roof went fine. The problem is I have cedar shakes on house and some of them came off during demolition of old roof. I called G & A to see if they could come out  and replace them. After two calls they replied and said yes. They would be out in a couple of days. After waiting a week, I called again and left a message. I never heard from them again. I have no problem with their work . Just the lack of response.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Geno  came out on a Sunday and did the repairs on the cedar shakes. He cut, replaced, and painted all missing shakes. I am very pleased and happy. I will definitely be using G&A again in the spring to fix my chimney. </p>"

"I have a small horse farm that does lessons and training. We needed an arena that wouldn't get slippery after it rained. We spoke to several people and several suggested Pierce Excavating. It was a great experience. After having worked with another company that didnt listen to me, didnt do what I wanted and made a mess of my property- Pierce Excavating was a blessing. Mr Pierce was very respectful of me and my property as was his crew. He gave me a fair estimate, explained exactly what they were going to do, and even offered suggestions to make it better. They arrived when they said they would be here and went right to work. They even did a little extra for me when I did the "while your here could you". They made sure I knew how to maintain the work they had done and even checked back with me to be sure I was happy with the work. They are the only company I will use for any site work I may need in the future. Great people, great work, fair prices."

"They were excellent. Dug the foundation, set the cinder blocks, poured the concrete. Built it up from there. Put on the 10x12 addition with 3 windows, 8 electrical outlets, Pergo floor, painting and finishing molding. The owner as well as every one of the crew were respectful and dedicated to doing the job 100%. Even the siding matches! They put up new rain gutters and a new roof over the addition as well. They will come back once the ground thaws after winter to do the landscaping which was included in the price.  We will have them back next year to do some remodeling in the house. Absolutely wonderful experience. If you want a quality construction firm, this is it!!! <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Middleburgh, NY

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
