"I was very pleased with the carpentry work Kurt did in the wood siding of my house. He replaced a whole section of cedar siding and replace various rotting siding. He installed a frieze board and fixed some rotten siding on a dormer along with other various siding and window trims work The quality of work was excellent and very professional Good quality craftmanship and high work ethics coupled with good communication and very friendly. He provides good advise on what to do and always putting the customer first. He is one of the best carpentry contractor and I definitely recommend him and will call him again for all my future carpentry siding work."

"CT Home Improvement LLC is a fantastic company for all your home improvement needs. They’ve done an excellent job on my home—installing new flooring, a kitchen, ceilings, insulation, backsplash, and plumbing. Their work is high-quality, and the team is professional and reliable. Best of all, their pricing is fair and transparent. They completed the entire project on time and stayed on schedule. Their customer service was outstanding—always responsive, respectful, and willing to answer all my questions. I highly recommend them!"

"We hired Alliance Home Improvement to install a new roof, siding, windows, lights, and door for our home and garage. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and work ethic are simply stellar. The proof is in the pudding - our house looks absolutely beautiful (will post pictures once the snow melts off the roof if we remember to). Serge is trustworthy and keeps all of his promises. He and his crew went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that all of our special requests were met (for instance, after they installed the JBoxes supporting the lights, I didn't like the proportions, so they got bigger JBoxes and graciously replaced them). When the work was done, Serge did a walk through with us, noting our concerns about little details, and then his crew took the time to polish and tweak every single corner of our house to perfection. Alliance exceeded our expectations and were great to work with. We recommend them highly! 10 out of 10."

"They were very good. They came right away. We called them to possibly do a new roof. It was a lot of snow and he came within 12 hours. He was literally on somebody's roof when I called them. He was just so nice. He was an A."

"

Historical home required rotten wood replacement ? numerous locations around the house require replacement or repair of external wood siding, trim work - excellent workmanship very happy with work performed.

External Paint  sanding (prep) ? wet sanding of the home went quickly and very clean  - superb workmanship very happy with work

External Paint tape (prep)- this is where the project was very slow and time seem to take forever to complete ? 2 weeks of taping .

External Paint ? primer coat - excellent workmanship very happy 1 day

External Paint ? base color 2 coats - excellent workmanship took too long to complete-  8 days

External Paint ? trim color - excellent workmanship took too long to complete- 5 days

If you are not looking to get house done quickly 1-2 weeks then these are the guys for you excellent work but slow

"Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."

FAQs for arbor, pergola or trellis custom build projects in Middletown, CT

Pergolas and gazebos are both outdoor structures, but there are differences between the two. A pergola has a slatted roof that allows partial sunlight to filter through, creating a light and airy space. In contrast, a gazebo features a solid roof that provides complete shade. This key difference influences the comfort and visual appeal of your outdoor space.

Prefabricated pergola kits require one to four hours of assembly, while custom pergola designs take an average of eight to 16 hours. Additional groundwork, such as pouring a concrete slab, leveling the site, and removing obstructions, may extend the installation process to several weeks, ensuring a secure and long-lasting build.

A standard pergola kit ships with everything you need—four support posts, rafters, top runners, support beams, and hardware for anchoring the frame to a concrete pad. Many manufacturers also bundle add-ons like retractable canopies, privacy screens, or modular sections that let you tweak the footprint. Because each part is pre-cut and labeled, the kit helps you—or your contractor—assemble a sturdy, attractive structure without extra trips to the hardware store.
