"Steve Case of SPU is probably the best home repair and roofing contractor I have ever dealt with in my 30 years of owning a home. Steve came out to my house the day I called him for an estimate. This was after a night of 50-80 mph winds had damaged my whole roof. Other contracters said it might take them a week to assess the damage to my roof. SPU's price to fix my entire roof was approved by my insurance company with no problems. Steve's crew showed up the next day and they completed the job before another bad rain storm moved into my area that night. I was impressed by the company's arriving on time with all the materials to start and finish the job. No time was lost because the crew had to wait on shingles or other supplies etc. Steve's men went up onto the roof and they kept working until the job was done. Before the crew left they cleaned up anything that was on the ground. I couldn't find one nail! I would also like to point out the roofing crew looked clean and professional. So did their vehicles. I believe this reflects the pride Steve's company takes in doing a professional job. I have had no problems with my roof since SPU replaced it. I am completely satisfied with the roof repair SPU preformed on my house. My neighbor recommended Steve to me and I would absolutely recommend SPU to anyone who needs the services they provide."

"Had my roof and gutters damaged by hail and wind. My roof was 18 years old. My insurance only wanted to give me money to patch and replace sections of roofs and gutters. We picked out the color of roof, provided samples to review for me and my wife. Phil from Titan roofing sent over Joliet code for full replacement to my insurance carrier and they got me my entire roof replaced and gutters. Came out and got the job done in two days in February 2022!! They did a great job on installation, cleanup and services. "We had S & E Roofing replace our roof four years ago, in 2013. To match the shingles on our upper roof, he used IKO brand shingles. The shingles turned out to be defective. After three years they began curling badly, most likely because they never sealed. I contacted Tim Cone and requested he come out and take a look. He did and agreed they had failed. Tim submitted the warranty claim for us, with samples and photographs, and said he would honor the warranty regardless of IKO's decision. Last week he completely replaced the roof, tearing off the defective shingles and replacing everything. The roofers were professional, courteous, and took their time to do the job correctly. Clean up was thorough. We are still waiting to hear from IKO. If you're re-roofing your house and you want someone who has integrity and honors their promises, S & E Roofing is your best bet."

"Carrington Roofing did my tear-off and replace roof 10 years ago. Although I have not been on the roof, I thought they did a great job, fast, efficient, and good price, so I wanted to consider them for this contract. :-)
I contacted three top-rated vendors from Angie's List.  One didn't respond at all, and two responded quickly.  I got a quote from Tristan Carrington and the one other vendor.
The other vendor's email estimate was very nicely put together, very polished, super quick.  Carrington's estimate took a couple days longer and was basic - plain text and delivered by email as well. 
However the big difference, was that CARRINGTON WAS ABOUT HALF THE COST of the other estimate.  I compared the materials and work to be performed and found them roughly equal but for very different prices.
Communication was great - email and phone I got great customer service from Tristan every step along the way from quote to completion.  Any little question or problem was addressed easily.  He asked us to do walkarounds during and after so we knew what was going on.  The guys that did the job were very nice, worked around the changing weather, and did excellent clean up.
It's hard to know sometimes what to pay for these things, so all you can do is shop around and talk to other homeowners to come up with comparables for similar work.  Clearly I could have paid more but maybe I could have gotten it done for less?
But we are happy with the work done, and feel confident recommending Carrington Roofing.

"I had Roof-to-Deck Restorations clean and stain my wooden deck this spring. I have used them previously and have always been happy with the results. The work is excellent and they have never left a mess. They are very easy to work with as all I have to do is clear the deck of all furniture and send them a check. They do all the rest and I dont have to be home when the work is done. They performed the service in two sessions. One to clean the deck and one to stain it. They have to schedule around weather so the two sessions were about two weeks apart. When they were done they left a bottle of extra stain to remedy tough spots but I have never needed to use it. Overall they perform a good service for reasonable cost. I will use them again.
