"Jim, a master carpenter, arrived at agreed time and was able to repair a damaged kitchen island countertop so it looks great. Also fixed rickety chairs, two drawer slides, loose bathroom tiles and installed several carpet transitions strips. All done in a professional manner. Countertop repair took some real brainstorming and Jim came up with a great fix, avoiding replacement of a top that couldn’t be matched."

"Scott Hall Remodeling did a excellent job. Worked with us to get the kitchen that we envisioned. Worked with the budget that we had. Kept us informed on what would happen and what time frame. Mike was a joy to work with. The kitchen was enclosed to keep the rest of the house clean. Excellent workmanship. Kept us informed of any delays that occurred because of Covid.. Definitely would hire them again."

"Excellent company. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. Quality of work is very high. Staff always took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. Very responsive to calls and emails; always kept us informed as to scheduling. We are very satisfied and have no complaints. Would recommend without reservation. Note that the A rating we gave for price does not mean that they are inexpensive, but rather that the price is consistent with the quality of the work."

"Our 1986 vintage kitchen wall cabinet finally fell apart and needed to be replaced. We contacted nearly every cabinet company in Central Ohio but found that no one could match the style / finish of our old cabinet. We then thought, why not "repair" our cabinet versus buying a new one? I then discovered Troyer Transformations. Samuel Troyer came to our house and inspected our damaged cabinet. Samuel confirmed that they could fix it and provided me a very reasonable price quote. One week later, Samuel's brother, Jerry, arrived to re-install the cabinet. Jerry showed us everything he did to re-build and re-enforce the cabinet before he re-hung it and re-installed the doors. He completed the job in less than an hour! The cabinet is absolutely beautiful! We are so grateful to have met Samuel and Jerry! They are both proud to be carrying on the Troyer Transformations business traditions of Outstanding Customer Service and Master Carpentry Skills. "True Professionals" in their field. We highly recommend Troyer Transformations."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Milledgeville, OH

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
