"Overall it went very well.  The hardest part was choosing the sink and faucets to go with the countertops. I did the tear out of the old laminate countertop and faucet and they did the rest.  There were no unexpected surprises and no installation problems.  Courtney was fabulous helping my wife and would email pictures of the granite to us at home so we could decide on color.  She was very polite and friendly.  Vince was very helpful on how to tear out the old countertop and had some very helpful suggestions for the kitchen to enhance the granite look.

"Bill did a beautiful job and we love our new backsplash. He cleaned up so well at the end of each day you hardly knew he was there. When he gave us our estimate he gave the quote based on the worst case scenario, having to replace all the drywall, but he was able to save most of it so our final cost was lower than the initial estimate. How often does that happen? Overall it was a very good experience and we would use the company again.

"After two fairly severe winters, we had some settling of the hardscapes that Friebel's Quality Landscaping had installed (see earlier review for the original project). We were very pleased by the original installation, but the real test of a contractor is how he stands behind his work. Jeff (the owner) came out to take a look at the settling in March while it was still quite cold. As soon as it had warmed up, he had a crew out to fix the hardscape which is now as good as new. Great original install, great warranty service.

"One of my pet peeves is vendors who don't respond to telephone messages or E-mails. I had seen a concrete countertop and loved the idea, so I contacted a couple of companies in town that list countertops as one of their products. No answer back. I found Jacob's website (which is very informative), contacted him, and he responded immediately. Another of my pet peeves is vendors who won't "invest" by giving you ideas or taking the time to work with you, unless you promise them business in advance. Jacob invited us to his studio, came by our house, and we communicated back and forth before we settled on the idea."

"Contractor agreed we would obtain the replacement amenities (vanity, faucets, toilet, tile, lighting fixtures, fans) to avoid markup, and contractor supplied the labor for all the work except painting. They took the room down to bare walls and floor boards. Took contractor's recommendation on changes to room (took out soffit, tiled over window) and are very happy with result. Cost listed is approximately what we paid the contractor; stuff we supplied was about $5,000 more."
