"Blue Ridge Carpentry did the original deck work using wood, so it made sense to use them again to replace the wood with synthetic decking since they already knew the design of the deck and what would be needed. I was able to get a quote on materials from another lumber provider, but Kevin was able to get the same quote from a more local provider. The work included removal and carry off of the old wood decking material and replacement with the synthetic decking. The finished product looks great!"

"We had American Home Contractors replace our roof (with architectural tiles), gutter system (to 6" with micromesh covers) and rear patio door (from inward opening to a sliding glass French door). Tyler, his administrative staff and all contractors were excellent! Tyler visited our home (masks and social distancing due to COVID-19) to assess the project specifics then set up a Zoom conference to walk through the details. We had three other companies also visit and provide their quotes; American Home Contractors was not the least expensive nor most expensive (another contractor quoted MORE THAN DOUBLE AHC's price!) but were clearly the best prepared, most professional presentation. Tyler and his team responded rapidly to all queries and were responsive to price negotiation. The day before roofing was to begin, AHC's supplier brought all materials to the house and used a crane to place the boxed shingles on the roof for the next day's workers. They arrived before 7am and began work at 7, placing tarps around the entire home (we were informed days before to clear areas around the home) and rapidly removed the existing tiles and removed and replaced worn wood sheeting. Tiles were then installed. The entire time, two workers were constantly cleaning up job debris and sweeping the yard with magnetic devices to retrieve loose nails. Workers finished at 6pm. Gutter removal and install was the next day--very quick install with the micromesh addition that will eliminate my multiple roof excursions to clear leaves from the clogged gutters. Nice touch--contractors painted all self-tapping screw heads to match gutter color. First heavy downpour and they worked as advertised. Lastly, rear patio door team arrived on another scheduled day (they did survey the job a week or so earlier--facemasks again the norm--to measure the area and assure no issues) and quickly removed the existing door, removed and replaced the rotted door sill, and installed the new sliding door and trim--all within two hours. All work quality and finish was better than expected. We're very pleased with the work, price, and value and will certainly consider AHC for all future home repair/upgrade work!"

"Owner Trent listened to my plan for the project, and didn’t try to change the plan to make it easier on him. This was a 24x24 low-rise, freestanding deck with handicap ramp and trex-style decking. He gave accurate estimates, with no gotchas or surprises. After the planning phase, he was punctual every day of the project. Supplies were planned out and delivered on time with no dead time. He did not rush the project or do cheap construction or fabrication. His cuts are accurate, no large or uneven gaps, and the deck is sturdy with no squeaks or bounces. This is the company you want for your deck or porch project. The owner is the installer and the quality shows."

"After moving into a new condo, I had a variety of jobs to be
tackled from mounting a large heavy mirror to a wall to small fix-ups like
installing a new showerhead. A colleague recommended Matt Cholko and Total Home
Services. She had used Matt’s services when he was just starting out, and he
had made such an impression on her she kept his business card. I called Matt
and left a message with his answering service. He called back that same day,
and we discussed what I needed done. Right then and there, he gave me an
estimate as to how many hours the work would take, and explained the fees,
which I thought very reasonable.

On the day of the appointment, Matt and his colleague, Luke, arrived as
promised, carrying tools and equipment to my 8th floor apartment.
They were prepared with everything they needed right down to the mounting
hardware, and set to work right away. For positioning the mirrors and wall
sculptures, they asked for my input, but were also very helpful with
suggestions. When it came time to position the large mirror, it was discovered
that it couldn’t be placed exactly as planned because of the electrical wiring
in the wall behind that area. They recalculated and hung the mirror without any
damage to the wiring or wall, and moved the dresser so that mirror and dresser
were aligned and centered. Not only did Matt and Luke do all the jobs I
requested but they also noticed other little things that could be handled in
the allotted time.

Matt and Luke were polite, professional, friendly, and very efficient.
It took only a few minutes to see that they really know what they’re doing. I
had the greatest of confidence that the work was being handled correctly. And
they also managed the cleanup, carting away the mirror wrappings and vacuuming
the sawdust from cutting down the doors. Matt was right on target with his
estimated time, and the cost was as expected. I can recommend Matt and Total
Home Services without reservation. As my decorating and improvement projects
continue, I plan on calling Total Home Services for the help I’ll need.

FAQs for vinyl siding install or completely replace projects in Millville, WV

Insulated vinyl siding significantly improves your home's thermal resistance compared to standard vinyl products. The foam backing helps minimize heat transfer through your exterior walls, particularly addressing thermal bridging through wall studs. While the exact performance depends on the specific product and installation quality, this improvement can contribute to more consistent indoor temperatures and potentially reduced energy consumption. For maximum energy efficiency, insulated siding works best as part of a comprehensive insulation strategy rather than as a standalone solution.

The additional investment in insulated vinyl siding delivers multiple benefits that many homeowners find worthwhile. Beyond potential energy savings, the foam backing enhances durability against impacts and weather conditions. The insulation layer also helps reduce exterior noise transmission and creates a more solid feel than standard vinyl products. In regions with temperature extremes, the improved thermal performance can enhance comfort while potentially reducing heating and cooling expenses over time. The improved rigidity also helps maintain its appearance longer than standard vinyl options.

The longevity of insulated vinyl siding depends on several factors, including installation quality, local climate conditions, and maintenance practices. With proper care and regular cleaning, these products maintain their functionality and appearance for many years. Manufacturers provide warranty coverage that reflects their confidence in the product's durability. Environmental factors like sun exposure intensity and extreme temperature fluctuations can influence how the siding ages over time. Regular inspection and prompt attention to any damaged areas help maximize the system's effective lifespan.

The investment required for insulated vinyl siding on a home with 2,000 square feet of exterior wall surface falls between $8,000 and $24,000. This considerable range reflects variations in material quality, installation complexity, and regional pricing differences. Homes with multiple stories or intricate architectural details require more labor hours and specialized techniques, positioning them toward the higher end of the price spectrum. Obtaining multiple detailed estimates from qualified contractors provides the most accurate picture of costs for your specific property and preferences.
