"Excellent. The jobs came out looking great. The retaining wall was tied in to a set of abutting concrete steps very nicely. For the walkway, Sam even made an asphalt patch to the city sidewalk where the two met. Sam and his team were on time, worked neatly, cleaned up after the work was done. Sam was really responsive, very friendly, great attitude. I recommend highly."

"I contacted Paul through Angie's List on Monday. He called the same day, and we made an appointment for Tuesday. I had thought that we were just going to get a quotation for the job, but Paul and his co-worker were ready to do the job. They arrived when he promised, gave me a very fair price for the job and had the 100 foot driveway sealed beautifully in less time than I expected. It looks great. Yes, I recommend this company."

"It went great. We were in good hands with the Ranieri family throughout the entire project. They are extremely reliable, diligent about keeping us informed about the process, and deeply knowledgeable about concrete deck installation and pool installation and care. Our 30+ year old 20x40 inground pool had crumbling old pavers around it and the pool plumbing needed replacing before we could put a deck in. The Ranieris were a one-stop-shop for this work. They replaced the plumbing, installed a new skimmer box, and poured a gorgeous curved edged 10' patio on one side and 4' deck around the rest of the pool. They are excellent communicators, keeping us informed all throughout the process and coordinated directly with our electrician to get the new ground wire installed and permitted before they poured. No hiccups at all with this process. This work happened this spring 2022, so there were supply and delivery issues with concrete that are outside of the contractor's control. From our perspective, the wait wasn't too bad, and the Ranieris kept us informed every step of the way. Their work is both art and science. We love what they built for us. We would hire the Ranieris for any future projects, and we highly recommend them."

"The two technicians worked all day at this job, early to late, on an unpleasant rainy day, filling the cracks and holes in an (at the time) dungeon-like unfinished basement. They didn't leave until the job was done. This work, tested over a season or two, gave me the confidence to have a finished-storage space built in the basement, sealing up the walls. Since then, our region experienced some unusually bad weather, with deluges of rain. Some water did seep in, but no more than could be handled with a wet-dry vacuum. (I have plans for some landscaping that will direct more water away from the foundation; we think the water incursions reflected more on the lay of our land rather than on Crack-X's work.) Certainly our basement is much improved, and has become a usable space. If you have the sort of problem they specialize in, I would recommend them highly, for honesty, respect for customers and hard work."

"I hired Hanover Masonry for a masonry project and was really happy with the results. The team was professional, showed up on time, and did high-quality work. Everything was done as promised, and they kept the place clean. The job was finished on time, and the price was fair. I?d definitely recommend Hanover Masonry to anyone needing masonry work done right."

FAQs for concrete finishing, overlays & coloring application projects in Milton Village, MA

With proper care, a stained concrete floor easily lasts 20 years or more. Reapply sealer every two to four years to protect against moisture, scratches, and daily wear. Routine sweeping, occasional damp mopping, and prompt repairs keep the surface looking sharp and protect the slab underneath, preserving both function and resale value.

Stained concrete can crack if the slab is exposed to extreme moisture changes, heavy impacts, or settling. Small hairline cracks are mainly cosmetic, but deeper fractures can affect the finish. Inspect the floor regularly, address moisture issues quickly, and hire a pro for timely repairs. Staying on top of maintenance prevents minor flaws from developing into larger, more costly problems.

The longevity of a concrete stain depends on the product you choose. Acid-based options chemically bond with the slab and are essentially permanent. Water-based stains sit on the surface and can be lightened, darkened, or covered with a new color at a later time. Select the stain type that aligns with your long-term design plans and your willingness to reapply the stain in the future.

You can update the color by cleaning the slab, lightly etching it, and applying a new layer of stain. Re-staining bonds to the concrete and resists peeling far better than paint. For a dramatic shift—such as moving from a dark acid stain to a lighter tone—you may need to grind the surface first. A flooring pro can advise on the best approach for your specific floor.

Stained concrete combines longevity with a modern, custom look. The finish resists heavy foot traffic, moisture, and everyday wear, so upkeep is minimal—routine sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually enough. Because the color is inside the concrete, it won’t peel or flake like paint. Homebuyers also appreciate its sleek aesthetic and low maintenance, which can add a slight boost to your property's resale value.
