"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."

"With great regret I submit this unfavorable review mostly due to his tile man, MANUEL. If he's still using this guy, STAY AWAY. Many of my friends and I had used Douglas for different jobs in the past with excellent results. We considered him to be a social acquaintance as well as an excellent contractor and know that he had worked on some of the most important houses in town. Doug spent hours with me making choices and improving the design. He gave me money saving tips and helped in so many ways. I remain indebted to him for this.
There are minor issues with the paint and cabinetry such as vanity drawers not being uniform, a door painted on one side and not the other, a door jamb not painted and paint on door knobs and light fixtures. The major issue is the tile. It is was to be laid in a herringbone pattern with the tiles butted close together with only a 1/8and quot; grout line and the entire floor was to be sealed. It was emphasized that the tiles had to be perfectly flat and level as two family members have walking problems. Well the grout lines vary from 1/4and quot; - 1/2and quot; in places and almost all of the tiles have one end higher than the other. Tables and chairs wobble, furniture won't slide without catching on a bumped up tiles and it is very uncomfortable to walk across in bare feet. Some tiles are so sharp they almost cut your feet, others can cause us to stumble. Manuel admitted that he was going to Mexico and picking up laborers that he had never used and didn't know their skills. The capper of this was when I replaced my refrigerator (that they dented) and couldn't get it to slide out. It had been shoved into the space over wet tile which buckled and some of the tiles had popped up as much as 2and quot; on the sides. Additionally the outlet cover was laying in the floor and the refrigerator was plugged into a bare outlet -- a fire hazard? The installer of the new refrigerator took pictures and said he'd never seen a worse job. He tugged on one tile and it came up with just a hand tug; only half of that tile had thin set and it was completely loose.
Additionally, some of the workers scratched my car, dented the refrigerator, and stole two brooms and a case of paper towels. When Norma called and asked if Steven could pick up the final check ($1800), I asked if Doug would come by instead because I wanted to show him these things. That was last summer and I'm still waiting to see him and I still have the $1800.
I'm really not sure of how much I paid for this job. I think Doug got about $30,000. I bought most of the materials, fixtures and plumbing supplies and think that the total job was in the neighborhood of $40,000.
I saved for years to have this done and wanted it done by the best in town. Now I'm saving to have it re-done and wonder who really is the best in town.
"
