"Leon, Shana, and Leon’s brother removed popcorn from the ceilings in several rooms and hallways and painted several rooms. They did an excellent job and the rooms looked great when they finished. I am hiring them to paint and remove popcorn from ceiling in two remaining rooms. They are very pleasant, hard-working, reasonably priced, and trustworthy. One couldn’t ask for more. I highly recommend them."

"My experience with Jared and Paula couldn’t have went any better and I love my new kitchen! They were on time, communicated daily even when I had a ton of questions choosing a color. I am so impressed with the quality and durability of my cabinets. They even painted my kitchen for free! I will definitely use them again in the near future!"

"Tom came out to bid on our project on May 22, 2014.  He was very thorough in explaining how much and what type of paint would be needed.  He was reasonable and fair with his estimate.  He came to our home on June 20th and prepped the entire area first. He asked us to come into the home to see the prep work.  Once we approved, he then started spraying all the ceilings.  As he was working, he asked us to come back in to see the difference between the newly painted area and the old.  Remarkable difference.  He sprayed the textured ceilings twice with primer/paint.  He did a nice job cleaning up.  Very personable and nice to work with.  I would recommend him.

"Initially, I had to ask for a refund and ask Angie?s List
specialist to step in to resolve the services I received from Don?s Painting
& Handyman.
I?m a U.S. Army Veteran who recently purchased a house and
was in need of some light and some major repair?s, so I thought Don?s would be
a good choice, at the time there were some questionable ratings, but the majority
of A rating outweigh them.
The end result was I got a refund a apology and acknowledgment
that there was a over booking of Angie?s List Deals, and a problem with one of their
worker which is no longer with Don?s.
I was satisfied that the issue was resolved and behind me,
and I had already move on and got the work I was hoping to have Don?s service
do done by a different company outside of Angie?s List, The cost was higher,
but I was fine and happy.
Sometime around the week of Memorial Day, I received a
E-mail from Don?s Painting & Handyman, It looked to a apology to Angie?s
List customers, saying that they are hoping to regain the trust and rebuild their
reputation and if any message or call for service to please do so.
At first I was not sure, but I thought one of the TOP guys
with Don?s services I like, Daryle, he
is also a U.S. Veteran, and seem to be a person that could be trusted
and stood behind his work, so I decided to message Don?s service and give them an
other try.
I needed a door to open into the hallway, instead of the
room it currently did, this was one of the owners specialty, Don, he had to
remove the molding and turn it the other way, he fulled the hinge hole & the
old door  latch with wood putty, and then
Don had to reset the mold and the carve out hinge and door latch.
The door works like it was always on and opening into the
hallway, Don did a great job.
The other job I needed to have done was to have some patio
blocks set up, I had a new eGress window
install, and by doing so there was a hole added and 3 sidewalk block
removed, so I needed to have some temporary patio blocks around the eGress
window hole WELL, so as to not have people walk in dirt in to my back door.
This 2nd new job  , Daryle
was going to do, he started it on a day it was raining, so he had to stop and
come back the following day.
The very next day , Daryle showed up ready to work, he got
down and hand dig the outline for the patio blocks, we ended up only using 12
patio blocks, 12 inch by 12 inch squares with a couple smaller one on the
outside edge.
I was not keep good track of
time, but I believe it seem like the door was 2.5 hours, maybe it was less, as
DON is a GREAT carpenter in my opinion and the door is better then I had every
anticipated, but I?m only giving a ruff guess on time.
For the patio blocks time,
again I was not keeping track of the time, but I would give a give a rough
estimate of 4 hours, digging, places , clearing , going to get supplies, and so
on.
When , Daryle was all done, I was MORE then happy
with the JOB Don?s Painting & Handyman had done this time around.
We did not come up with a price, and I believe Daryle had it
planned out the WHOLE time, but when I ask for the receipt for the supplies and
give him the CASH, and I ask NOW what do I OWA for all of your TIME for the
work, Daryle Said Thanks from a FELLOW U.S.
 Veteran,  no charge for labor.
Has Don?s Painting & Handyman regain the trust U.S. Army
Veteran, YES.

"If you are looking for painters for interior or exterior work, I heartily recommend T M painting. We hired them to do the entire exterior & interior of our house and garage and some interior touch-up and repair as well.  They did a wonderful, caring, craftsman-caliber job on everything they worked on.

To give some details:

They took over two weeks to prep our two story house, which is wood siding on the first floor  and garage, and stucco on the second.  For the wood portion, every single joint (overlap) between pieces of siding, on the entire house and garage, was caulked. Every single joint.  Amazing.

When prepping our very unusually textured stucco, some of it needed repair, which they did.  When completed, it is not even evident where the repair was.

Our neighbors were impressed with the prep--one said that he had never seen such a thorough prep job in his life.  I agree.

When choosing paint colors, I was hesitant to make such a long range decision without multiple color samples.  Tenzin would have his patient crew paint one sample after another to make sure that I was comfortable with my choices.  And even after finally choosing colors, I asked them to paint an entire side of the house completely--all accent and trim colors as well--so that I could really see what it would look like.  All this was done pleasantly and reassuringly, even though it was out of their normal painting sequence.   I was never left feeling uncomfortable with the process, or like I was asking too much.

The crew was incredible.  They cleaned up after themselves every day, and they did a remarkable job on the painting itself.  Everything was done in a considered manner, no rushing or frustration with the time it was taking to do things right.  They themselves were obviously very proud of their workmanship and a job well done.

I had another neighbor come over to admire the finished product.  He said that he had looked at the job and not seen a single mistake.

In the end, Tenzin' crew did painting, plus some mortar, stucco, sheetrock, and plaster repair, and even some construction work like adding bathroom tub, shower door & tiles.

I found Tenzin by asking around my friends & Family -he came highly recommended, and I was able to see some of his finished jobs before hiring him.  My husband and I can now happily add our voices to the growing list of satisfied clients.  I am delighted with the way our house turned out, and even delighted with the surprisingly stress-free process itself.  If you are planning a paint job, give Tenzin a call

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Montrose, MN

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
