The roof decking was in poor shape, so the purlins had to be nailed directly to the roof rafters. Andy used 5" nails that had to be hammered by hand (no air nailers). I'm not sure how many contractors would have gone to this effort. The crew took extra care to locate the rafters and make sure the purlins were securely nailed to the rafters. The installation of the metal and roof valleys was very nicely done ... looks great. I'm super satisfied. Great contractor. He climbed up on the roof, looked around & took pictures. Then he came down and explained what he found. He was knowledgeable, concerned, honest and not at all pushy. He explained that the roof is okay, but will need to be replaced in the next five years. This makes perfect sense based on the age of my town home. He was very understanding of my financial situation and I feel confident in his opinion.
