"I received 5 quotes on my kitchen remodel and LA Expert Builders gave me unbeatable offer so it was an easy decision to go with them. Nir and his team showed up on time, were professional, quick, efficient and very honest. Nir was there for any help, available for a contact all the time and helped me to choose most suitable materials. He and his team finished this project in a timely manner and my new kitchen looks top notch!"

"Gary was  prompt and professional for each appointment.  On the initial appointment, he patiently answered all my questions, provided a good selection of products to choose from, and gave a quote for services.  The day of service, Gary prepped & painted the inside of the fireplace as well as all hardware on the doors.  For the finishing touches, he installed a new burner and fire glass.  When he left the area was clean and ready to be enjoyed.  My boring, outdated gas fireplace is now updated, and looks great!!!  I'd hire Gary again. <br />"

"I am reviewing Embers West's installation of a Mendota FV44 sealed combustion gas insert (combustion air comes from outside & fumes vent to the outside). The product has a remote with a thermostat & ability to control the flame height, circulating blower speed & a dimmable halogen light. There is electric ignition (no standing pilot flame) & a battery-pack to light the flame in case of a power outage. If you're in the market for a gas fireplace, look no further. Save your time and come here first. You'll be glad you did. We chose Embers West because they had the highest Yelp rating of the several local fireplace businesses (well-deserved - with over 3 dozen reviews). My wife & I had researched gas fireplace inserts online before calling EW & were partial to the Mendota brand. When we met with Francois Tiab (owner & chief technical person), I provided photos & measurements of our 1955 brick fireplace; he agreed that Mendota was our best choice. Francois impressed us enough that we saw no need to check out any other businesses (so I can't comment on his pricing versus others). He was personable, professional & extremely knowledgeable & we enjoyed working with him. Francois made it clear at the start that our project needed several visits from them but I did not ask for a schedule; the project took 3 months & cost a bit over $8k (actually $500 less than the quote- Serryn (office manager) emailed us to say Mendota was having a sale- we would not have known otherwise). If your project needs to be completed quickly - then you should discuss that with Francois up-front. A few times, I had to call to find out the status - Serryn got us an answer right away each time (also when I had tech questions). The installation encountered a snag & Francois quickly resolved it. This is all normal for custom work. The gas line & electrical connection were installed before EW started. Mario was the installer & he was great (friendly, punctual, took time to do things right, brought tarps to protect the carpet & wore protective booties over his shoes). He used a "sniffer" to check for gas leaks. Payments were easily handled online via their website. Their showroom had sample installations to help select finishes & the artificial logs. The finished job looks great & I'm very happy with the results. I definitely recommend Embers West."

"I just had Dustin out for my winter maintenance on the fireplaces and chimney and couldn't be more appreciative.  I first found Abetter Vent Cleaning in the spring to clean all the ducting and vents in my home.  Dustin is on time, professional, experienced, and doesn't even mind me following him around and asking questions.  Setting up the appointment was easy and he was out here within a couple days of my call.  Dustin has gone the extra mile both times he has been to my home - from lighting the pilot light on a gas fireplace, to replacing an old dryer vent flex line, to climbing on the roof and reattaching a vent hood.  I highly recommend Abetter Vent Cleaning and thank the guys for all of their hard work. <br />"

"The technicians came in and cleaned and disinfected all of our ductwok. At first I thought it was expensive, but they really cleaned the vents and, even though we've had the vents "cleaned" by other providers in the past, Blodgett staff found a old  Coca Cola can that had been in the vents since the 1970's. It took two staff members around 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. We were so impressed we called again about a month later and had them clean our fireplace chimney. <br />"

"After calling companies close to our mountain location we contacted Hugo at A-1 and he offered to come a much longer distance at a lower price. He overcame some obstacles the way our fireplace was built to get the chimney clean and also replaced the worn out chimney cap. He was on time and very careful to control the soot coming into the home. We recommend this company as professional and fairly priced. And working with Hugo was an especially pleasant experience. <br /> <br />"

"I called to see if Adam could do a project for me.  He answered the phone personally,  listened to my project, and asked for my timeframe.  Adam told me he would love to work with me but had a current project, and since he only works on one project at a time it would probably not work for both our schedules.  Adam gave me some tips on the phone with my project and even referred me to someone he knew and trusted who may be able to fit me in and do the job.  Adam  recommended I start on the permit process, but was sensitive to the fact that it would cost some money at that point, but he knew it would move things along faster.  I appreciated Adam's help, honesty, and ethics- all of which were apparent in the 5 minute phone call we had!  I would definitely call Adam again! <br />"

"We hired Fireplace Freddie to inspect and fix our 100-year-old fireplace & chimney, making it safe to burn real wood again. Nick and Scott came out quickly, and used cameras to inspect. During the inspection Nick visually showed me what the issues were. He also verbally suggested the fix. After the inspection, we received pics and a price quote to fix the issues by installing a stainless steel sleeve in the chimney. We sent the pics and info to 3 other businesses to compare prices. After speaking with Nick numerous times, including 2 conversations with my old school contractor buddy who asked Nick just about every ridiculous question he could possibly think of, Nick remained cool and answered all of his questions. Nick also agreed to do the job with a permit from LADBS which they included in the price, so we decided Fireplace Freddie was the right company to do the job. Patrick was our installer. He had a co-worker, but I didn't catch his name. They showed up on time, covered the floor and furniture and did their job. It took a few days as they said it would, but they were on time, clean and friendly. Each day they came, they covered everything. Each night, they cleaned up and uncovered everything before they left. Patrick also dealt with our LADBS inspector who admittedly was not well versed in chimney repair. Patrick was very friendly, gave the inspector the information he needed including printed specs from the manufacturer, and we passed inspection w/o issue. Scott came back 1 week later to test the fireplace. He lit a fire to make sure it was all good, and it is. To sum it all up, everyone was friendly and professional. The job went super smooth, and we are able to use our wood burning fireplace again, safely.  I would highly recommend Fireplace Freddie. A+"

"Our home was built in the mid-1980s and has been updated with appliances and carpeting about 15 years ago. It was time to give it a makeover and we saved and planned it for years. We searched several contractors and designers and met with a few. We selected Erick because he was very creative and, most important, confident in the work he proposed. We wanted someone to take our ideas and input and make it happen. We are more than happy with the result. <br /> We started in July and the final project completed in November with a few odds and ends in December. Overall, we could not even imagine how great the results would be once completed. Every evening when we got home from work during the project we would admire the various improvements and progress throughout our home that Erick and his team executed. <br /> Starting with the Kitchen. We took out a pantry and wall with the oven and microwave. We wanted to expand the opening to the den and this was the only way. Erick suggested a microwave drawer. I had not even considered it and wasn't sure. We trusted Erick and he was right. The microwave drawer is terrific. Nothing spills and it's so easy and out of the way. <br /> With the loss of the pantry, Erick showed us how he could open up the space under the stairway from the kitchen and we ended up with more storage space in this area with rolling carts and china boxes that were previously stored in the garage.Next, we had him build a breakfast nook in the kitchen with a bench. He added drawers there and with the new sliding doors and side window panels, it's beautiful and we can see the atrium with our plants and enjoy the light. He put crown moulding around the beams under the kitchen skylight and it's beautiful and updated. He created a built in space for the frig and it's gorgeous with crown moulding and shaker doors to match the new cabinets. There's storage for the trash and recycling that are in the cabinets and a special set of drawers for oils and large pots and pans that pull out from the corner lower cabinet. I could go on, but there are other spaces to share. <br />  In the den, we had the fireplace completely remodeled. They ripped out the old brick, brought the wall down to the studs to make sure it was safe and put in some strapping to secure the chimney. Then Erick's team built a beautiful mantel and we picked out a backsplash that goes from floor to mantel that is just what we wanted. We also picked out tiles for the hearth. When they were installed, we wanted to change two and Erick and his team took care of it immediately without a fuss. There was never a fuss. Erick and his team are completely service oriented.  <br /> We selected a vanity for the powder room and Erick came up with the idea of floating glass shelves. I wasn't sure, but I was willing to take a risk. Wow, it's a showcase. Our neighbors and friends can't get over how nice and luxurious it is. The floors in the kitchen, pantry and den are the wood porcelain floor tiles. They are amazing. Erick takes you to his "special place" to select all the finishes for counter tops, flooring, everything!  He has contacts at locations where we received very good pricing and service on all of our appliances and fixtures. <br /> I wanted to replace the stair railing, but wasn't sure we could afford it. Erick brought the custom builder in and handled all the specs. he gave us a variety of choices. We now have the stair rail that makes our home so nice and just the way we like it. Again, another dream come true.  <br /> Upstairs in the Master Bath, we had one of those 1980s large oval spa tubs with a step. Let's put it this way, I hated it. We just shower and never takes baths. So, Erick came up with the idea to change it to a large shower. Well, let me tell you - it's large. I was a bit embarrassed at first at how large it was turning out. But after it was done, I can't imagine it being any other size than what it is now. With the fixtures Erick suggested for the shower heads, towel holders and custom glass doors - we feel like we are in a resort. It's wonderful. He was able to put in fans (I don't know how and I don't care). I'm thrilled we have fans in our bathrooms now. We're are in the 21st century. <br /> Erick's team customized our master bath vanity with espresso cabinets, custom mirror medicine cabinets (mirrors on both sides of the medicine cabinet doors). Tiled the space and backsplash and new lighting and electrical in both the cabinets. It's crazy great! Gorgeous tile work on the floors and walls. New toilet fixtures. Lighting. All done to perfection! <br /> The guest bathroom was redone differently. We took out a wall and opened it up between the bath tub/shower space and the vanity. New pre-fab vanity and mirrors that look terrific. The guest bedroom is where we splurged even more on cabinetry. Erick had a custom-built 16 drawer cabinet built under the inset window. It holds so much. Just what we needed. <br /> There were minor repairs to some bad wood on our deck, some areas in our garage and around the entry. His team replaced doors - every one of them throughout the home. It's amazing what new doors can do to your home value. He also loves electrical outlets. So he installed several in the kitchen and bathrooms. We thought it might be overkill, but we use them more than ever. He was right. The knobs and pulls in all the cabinets and drawers match.  <br /> The ccabinetry is all custom throughout the house. His team are true artisans. I can't thank them enough and tell them how much I admire their skill.  <br /> I have to say, Erick and everyone of his team members know what they are doing. They are the best I've seen. My dad was a building contractor, so I have an amazing point of reference. I can say without a doubt, Erick was meant to work with us on our home.  Thank you Erick! <br />"
