"We started the process of having a fence (vinyl & chain link) installed. The vinyl install was acceptable. There were a few hiccups with schedules, but it got done. The chainlink was unacceptable and needed to be corrected a total three times. Once the owner and brother were involved, the install issues stopped, but it took them a long time to finish the 3 day project. I singed with the company on 2/7/17 and finished paying in late May."

"ADU Garage Conversion is not an easy task so I contacted several recommended contractors to see their offers. The best offer came from LA Expert Builders and at our first meeting Nir was extremely professional, knowledgeable and honest. "They are hands down the best investment I ever made in my life. I had a very odd shaped area that I needed fenced off, but I have a very modern looking house. He came and took measurements within two days. He then came back with the final measurements with his welder. It was so fast. He had these 9' beautiful fences. They powder coat them to the color you want. His design is awesome. The property line is a little angled, so the fences wouldn't fit because the metal is so tall, so they went overnight and welded a new piece. It is so nice. After that, it was so good, I had them redo my garage door in the same style. That again, took nine business days. It was just perfect. It sounds expensive, but these were big gates. They ran 25' of fencing and then another 7' on one side. They also put in two doors that have deadbolts, with many angles. It's not just an average garage. My house was built in the 1920's, so they went way beyond. It wasn't like putting on a new door, they had to build a new steel frame, and then they had to inset it into the roof line. It was so much more than you could ever expect. I can't stop talking about it. They were just so good. They put two working barn doors on the garage with separate locks. It is very detailed. They were so professional. It's so hard to find in LA people that you want to work with again. They are going to do a 30' fence along the back of my house, so I will be using them again in a couple of months. I don't know how much more I could gush about them. I had been avoiding doing the work because I'm use to people coming up with excuses. They were just problem solvers. They were fixing problems and making them work versus trying to up charge you after the fact. It was very straightforward and the price didn't change. I think they did more work than they initially thought, but there was no haggle on the price or anything."

"We were very impressed with United Builders during the bidding process for our bathroom remodel.  They were knowledgeable and particularly helpful when it came to design ideas and advice.  Of the three bids we received, they offered the best deal and the convenience of ?one-stop shopping? at their store in Van Nuys.  Plus, their reviews on Angie?s List were extensive and uniformly excellent. Their on-time estimate was eighteen days. 
The work went reasonably well for 12-15 days.  Eventually, however, we began to notice a lack of attention to detail in the way the project was being managed.   They ran out of tile and we had to wait days for more tile to arrive. They forgot or lost the vanity style and color we ordered and we had to choose again without the benefits of being in the showroom.  When the vanity was delivered it was not designed as we had requested and had to be modified.  In addition, the measurements for the vanity top were done incorrectly and a new top had to be ordered.  The second top didn?t match the tile and a third top had to be fabricated.   The mirror frame was flawed and had to be repaired.  Each misstep added many days of delay.
More importantly, as problems developed the project manager failed to communicate with us effectively.  Many days, sometimes
more than a week, would go by without the project manger visiting the project personally.  On numerous occasions we were promised a call back and did not receive one.  At times the project was delayed for many days with little or no explanation, or weak explanations at best.  At one point we were promised daily progress reports.  That never happened.  At times we waited for hours for someone to show up, not knowing when they would arrive to complete work.  We credit the project manager with the fact that no matter what problems arose, he always assured us that they would be resolved to our satisfaction and, on the whole, they were.  But, in most cases, we felt they were problems that should not have arisen to begin with.  And they were problems that repeatedly added to our stress and frustration and to unreasonable delays.
The project passed the city?s final inspection after 35 workdays, 17 days past ?on time.?  However, the shower glass and the mirror had not been installed and there were still minor problems with the vanity.  The problems with the vanity took additional weeks to resolve; much longer than necessary or reasonable. 
Our new bathroom looks great.  We are very pleased with the workmanship and the implementation of our design.  And the project was on budget.  But, getting from A to Z was a much more difficult, stressful, laborious, time-consuming process than it needed to be.  Their business description begins with ?attention to detail, micro management and great customer service.?  This was not our experience.  We cannot recommend United Builders.

"The concrete and gate install went relatively quickly. The patio cover required permits which took some time. Once received, the patio went up quick and the planter brick repair was also quick. Overall a good partnership that I will hire again."
