"Mr. Joe Young came out to my home and provided an estimate of the work to be done in a couple of days of my initial phone call.  He assessed the job to be done and throughly went over what he intended to do to complete the job, and provided appropriate information relative to areas that required problem resolution. He provided an estimated cost to do the work of $7500, which he discounted from a customary estimate of $11000.  I called him a couple of days later and inquired if he would also include an 8' turn-around in his initial estimate. He indicated he would, and I agreed to let him do the job. <br /> He scheduled the work about a week later, and completed the work within one week (one inclimate wheather day and a week-end). <br /> I was completely satisfied with job upon completion. <br /> <br />"

"After 8 years of waiting we were finally able to expand our home which we originally planned to do when we purchased our home. We spoke with other contractors but once we spoke with Mark with Charleston Remodeling he made the construction process more understandable and spoke with us on a personal level. He explained step by step each process of the remodel. He made us feel comfortable and we knew we had chosen the right contractor. His crew: Andy, Allen, Jamie, and Johnny were always professional, polite, on time, understanding, and did an excellent job to give us our dream addition that we had been hoping for the past 8 years. They paid close attention to detail and always involved us in the process. We were very indecisive on choosing flooring, fixtures, tile, etc. but Mark and his crew never pressured us into making a quick decision. They offered suggestions and put us on the right path to what we were looking for. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"We expected to have the advertisement honored, especially the part that stated that labor and materials were included. We received a contract about 3.5 months after we signed up for the deal for $43K, not including any materials, except cabinets. We were responsible for paying for and supplying tile, counter tops, light fixtures, back splash, door knobs and pulls. We also asked about any warranty and we were basically told these were worthless regardless of what anyone promised. <br /> <br /> Trey is definitely honest so we appreciated that. But just have to remember if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I think there was a lack of communication between the service provider and Angie's list. Just recommend before signing up, confirm all details with the service provider. And be prepared to pay extra for ANY upgrades or add-ons."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Mount Pleasant, SC

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
