"The finished job looks fantastic. The workers were out in the heat from 8am-6pm for two straight days with few breaks. They remained professional and courteous throughout the whole project. Absolutely impressed with these guys doing the manual labor. Tim checked in at the start of the project, during and followed up at the end to make sure I was happy. Definately would recommend using this company. <br />"

"Two weeks after the measurements, Darren and John came to my house and installed new granite countertops with under mount stainless steel sink.  It took them 3 hrs to complete the installation with a very clean kitchen.   John and Darren are very professional and knowledegable with their works.  They answered all my questions and gave me all advice about granite countertops, backsplash and kitchen cabinets.  <br /> There was a small issue that we found out during the installation.  The hole to mount soap bottle was drilled on a wrong side of the faucet, it was drilled on the right side instead of the left side of the faucet.  I called Steve and discuss with him about the issue.  Steve came up with the idea to install a button for garbage disposal on the right side and drill another hole for soap bottle on the left side of the faucet.  Darren and John already left my place but they came back in the evening on a same day to drill a new hole for soap bottle.  Finally, everything works out perfectly and I am very pleased with the results."

"Excellent! Raoul was the paver designer and he and his crew did a fantastic job. He was professional, knowledgeable, and meticulous. He kept us advised from start to finish. They were punctual and site was thoroughly cleaned up when finished. We are so very pleased and have a beautiful elegant patio with walkways leading to our two gates. I highly recommend them."

"This experience was outstanding from start to finish. Buddy arrived on time for the estimate, provided a fair price and didn't try to sell me more than I needed. The job was in a confined area of downtown Charleston which would have ordinarily required many trips with a small truck. I was okay with paying for this, but without prompting, he negotiated with the owner of a neighboring lot to eliminate this cost and passed the savings along. That's customer service! The gravel has been installed for a month now and still looks great. Overall, my experience was excellent and they receive my highest recommendation."

"Williford Roofing assessed the problem and recommended two options - spot application of a flat roof sealant product in the area where the leak was occurring or apply the sealant to the entire roof. While applying to the entire roof would provide a warranty, Williford expected that the lower cost, spot application would resolve the issue. We opted for that, with the understanding that if the smaller application did not resolve the issue we could later have the entire roof repaired. So far, the work has held up very well and no leaks have been noted despite heavy rain. Another roofing contractor had previously attempted repairs but did not stop the leak. Thanks for the good work."

"We expected to have the advertisement honored, especially the part that stated that labor and materials were included. We received a contract about 3.5 months after we signed up for the deal for $43K, not including any materials, except cabinets. We were responsible for paying for and supplying tile, counter tops, light fixtures, back splash, door knobs and pulls. We also asked about any warranty and we were basically told these were worthless regardless of what anyone promised. <br /> <br /> Trey is definitely honest so we appreciated that. But just have to remember if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I think there was a lack of communication between the service provider and Angie's list. Just recommend before signing up, confirm all details with the service provider. And be prepared to pay extra for ANY upgrades or add-ons."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Mount Pleasant, SC

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
