"Kyle is like superman. He showed up within an hour of my inquiry, did the necessary cuts in my slab granite countertops, installed my sinks and faucets, sealed the counters and then took all of the cardboard boxes with him. When I woke up this morning I did not even know how great this day would be. He is polite, communicative, capable and efficient. I would hire him again for any future counter/granite work and recommend him whole heartedly!"

Customers say: True professional

"Mike was great and seemed very knowledgeable. My house and property was significantly damaged by flooding and it is a big job. I didn't get a bid for the full scope of work from Mike and ultimately decided on a contractor that gave me a bid for everything and knew personally. I looked at pictures of Mike's cabinet work and was impressed. It was a tough decision and work has not yet begun because I'm waiting on insurance. Mike was very kind which I appreciated during such a stressful time."

"We couldnâ t be happier with the experience and work done by Bonner Tile and Stone. From the estimate, project acceptance, prep, tile install, grout, caulking, and clean up, it was a seamless and pleasurable experience. Jenny did an outstanding job, so professional, kind, and meticulous attention to detail. It was an absolute pleasure working with her and we look forward to hiring her again for our bathroom project next year. Thank you again Jenny!"

"Kept in contact, was willing to work with me until I found something I liked. Demo and install of kitchen and 2 bath countertops in 1 day. You do have to have a plumber and electrician (for hardwired electric stove top) come out to set that stuff back up."

"James and his crew were able to take care of all of my requests or sub contracted with those who could. They replace my outside decking and stairs with Trex. I had them back to refinish my frontroom hardwoods and replace my front stairway with hardwood for which they hired excellent sub contractors. They designed and installed a bannister on this stairway. They replaced two ceilings with shiplap. They remodeled my upstairs bathroom sub contracting out the tile, plumbing and wiring. The sub contractors were excellent. as well. James helped me visualize what I wanted done in my home and then made it happen. I can't say enough good things about James and his Crew."

"Absolute pleasure working with these guys. Not only answered the phone quick but were very informative and helpful when it came to picking out the stone for our kitchen. Ended up going with a white quartz and my wife and I could not be happier. Would recommend the Haus granite to anyone looking for stone countertops!"

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Mount Vernon, WA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
