They like to keep their crews working constantly, and I had really wanted it done as soon as possible. So I agreed. They came and they were right on time. They worked very hard. They always cleaned up after themselves. I mean so many leave a mess or leave a part of it undone. Plus, it just exceeded my expectations of how it looked in the end."

"Distinctive Landscaping did a major project behind our house that completely changed the looks of the back yard. We had lived in the house for 32 years and this was a project I had thought about many times, but I had to find the right landscape designer to implement it. Kurt was that person. He listened to my vision and came up with a design which was modified several times until it was ready to go. The area behind the house had erosion problems and he planned a retaining wall that solved this and flowed into a walkway that curved behind the porch and deck. Kurt dropped off samples of stone pavers in different colors and we are very happy with the choice we made. The work began in December, 2017, then had to be delayed because the ground was frozen to a greater depth than in most winters. When the elements allowed work resumed. The crew was exceptional, not hurrying, but doing precision work. We were so pleased that we decided to redo our 22 year old flagstone patio using the same stone pavers. Shrubs were added along part of the walkway. Four shrubs were also planted in the front yard. The work spanned almost three months (mostly due to weather related interruptions) and by Spring, the back yard had a whole new look with a walkway and patio that we could use and enjoy."

"We hired GSB for a large addition to our home and were happy with the final product. We initially presented them with rough sketches of what we wanted. They were very attentive and came back with a better vision of our space, including the addition of a powder room and wet bar. We stressed our desired for the addition to preserve the mid-century modern look and feel of our home and they delivered. Construction progressed at a solid pace, with various work crews showing up each day. They took great care to move furniture out of the way of construction and carefully installed temporary walls to separate the new construction from our existing living space, which we continued to occupy during the entire project. Interior tarps were also used to minimize the introduction of construction dust into our HVAC system. They showed great attention to detail in our project from the suggestion of materials to the final workmanship. The overall construction quality was high and the finished product has won rave reviews from visitors to our newly-renovated home. GSB’s contract was simply-written and included notations about possible surprise costs. We noted we wanted to change our roof shingles; they were up front with the fact that our sub-roof may also need to be replaced so we could budget accordingly. Overall, we were happy with GSB on every phase of our project and expect to hire them again in a few years for some interior improvements we plan."
