"Our family interviewed a couple of contractors to help us remodel our guesthouse. From the start, Guy came with a professional and exciting energy that made us feel comfortable with going with Builderzz. Guy was upfront about what he thought was possible/safe and you knew he was paying attention because he never missed a detail! Although Builderzz was not the lowest quote, we appreciated the reasonable, itemized and thorough estimate! For this particular project, we had our guesthouse's kitchen, flooring, and bathroom redone. The remodel looks immaculate! The best part about working with Guy and Builderzz Remodeling was their dedication to quality and speed (it was not one or the other). I've worked with other contractors and they were NEVER on schedule. I was shocked at how quickly they moved through the house. However, I also really appreciated Guy's dedication to quality. Our piping was completely outdated and Guy automatically updated the piping because his team didn't feel comfortable with the old piping (I LOVE THAT!) On top of that, Guy was great about communicating timelines, expectations, and questions with me. I'm usually at work during business hours so Guy was great through e-mail and text which I really needed to complete this project. With any project there can always be hiccups. Guy and team never try to deflect blame or make excuses. I think this is extremely important and speaks volumes to their character. Guy always tries to make all things right. This is why I will be working with them again in the future! Do not hesitate to give them a call!"

"What can I say? Asher is the best! My wife and I have been dealing with horrible contractors for a while and we can never find one that listens to us, makes us feel trusted, and follows through. But we got so luckily we found Vision Remodeling. Asher spent over 4hrs just to just to get to know us and how to better serve us. He also was very attentive to all our needs throughout the process. He listen to our ideas and gave us a ton of options from a stylistic point of view to what's best for the money. To top it off he gets the project done fast! Without a mess. He also comes out after the project is done to make sure you are completely happen with the result. We had very minor touch ups, which we were accustom to just do it our selves, nope not Asher. He saw the touch ups and took care of them himself. This is definitely high quality service and I strongly recommend him for your home improvement investments!"

"We have been dreaming for few years on how we will design the kitchen, what will it have and how it will serve us. We wanted it to be and look no less than perfect. We worked closely with Mr.Ron on the initial design (which after few corrections and meetings, become the final one) and he gave us many beautiful ideas and solutions to select from and to have as part of the remodeling. At the end, we are happy very much with his design, work, time frame to finish the remodeling job and his super happy personality. Ron is a pleasure person to work with. He always made sure that our vision of what we want… will matches what he can do and now we are in love with the new kitchen. Very high skilled company and we recommend to anyone that in case they want any beautiful remodeling job with a truly honest company and excellent customer support... they will have to contact this company."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Mountain-pass, CA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
