"It went well, except . . . Ty was very personable and appeared knowledgeable and worked efficiently, explaining what he was doing and why along the way. That was all great. There was a minor problem in that he tracked some mud and dirt from outside into the house and left some of it for me to clean up (he did pick up the biggest pieces). But I was pleased with the job itself. Where I was not please was the bill. I called the day before to ask what their pricing would be for a vent clean, because I already had a flat rate price from another company. The tech I spoke with said our cost would be a maximum of $151, possibly less depending on the circumstances. Theproblem was the vent cleaning itself was $151, but there was an additional $49 "diagnostic inspection" fee included. It's a permanent fee, already typed into the invoice form, so it's not something he didn't know about or that might not have applied. When I call asking for their price and I'm told our cost would be a maximum of X, I expect to pay no more than X. This was an additional 25% that was not disclosed until the time for payment. That is not professional. Ty's work was good and he was very pleasant, but I think a number of other companies can do good vent cleaning work and not slip in a significant 'secret' extra fee at the end, so I will not use this company again."
