"This was a BIG job. The flagstone patio wraps across the full front of our duplex and surrounds a redbud tree in the center and involved some drainage issues from the downspouts. Due to heavy scheduling they began the job in late fall/early winter and reached initial completion. They returned in spring for reseeding (going beyond the initial area). We found the type of interstitial material we initially selected too high and easily blown or washed away. They replaced it with premised at no extra cost. They were excellent in all respects. "Mid-summer I began looking for a contractor to get us hooked up to city water. Rishel was the first I talked to. He came out and gave me the price. I contacted others who offered pricing but were not interested in the project. They referred me back to Rishel not knowing that I had already talked with him.
The difficulty and expense of the project was because when the water main was extended past our home a couple of years before it had to be put in with directional boring. This put the 18and quot; main nine feet below grade and on the other side of College Avenue. Rishel had the equipment and expertise to handle our job without cutting the road.
Over the next couple of months we were in constant contact. To do the job Rishel would have to put equipment on the lawn of the apartment complex across the street from us. He wanted to do the job at a time when they were less likely to cause lawn damage for the apartment complex or for us..
It was early October when that time arrived and we agreed on a day for them to begin. Their equipment arrived early on the designated morning and work began. The layout of the job was explained in detail to me and I was able to visualize the work and follow it as it progressed. The workers were efficient, extremely careful in all that they did. The work progressed seamlessly over the three days it took.
When they finished they left minimal evidence that they had been here. The necessary excavations for meter pit and tie in to the house were minimal and refilled back to ground level plus settling material left.
I was positively impressed by the expertise and caring with which the whole project was done. I certainly would recommend Rishel
to anyone needing excavation work.

Mike and his crew were timely with the estimate, final design and completion of the project.  They custom built a large cedar pergola over our back deck.  It turned out great and exceeded my expectations!  I was very impressed by the way they were able to work around certain fixtures attached to the house instead of removing them or blocking them with posts for the pergola.  The posts were also firmly secured in the ground with concrete.  All in all, a professional job!

"Jim knows his "stuff" and was very easy to work with from start to finish! We had another company out prior to Knox and they did about $1,200 worth of work to try and fix the high levels in our septic tank only for it to fail less than two weeks later. We then called Knox and wished that we would have done that from the beginning. Jim diagnosed our septic tank failure in less than 15 minutes by probing all around our yard. He was very up front and honest with us about timelines/costs and he and his team replaced our entire system in less than a week with no surprises along the way! Jim was always available for any questions that popped up before the big dig and his communication throughout was outstanding. We just had our final walkthrough yesterday and my husband and I both have a good understanding of how our new system works, what needs to be done to maintain it, and we also know that if any issues or concerns arise, Knox will be right there to help us through them! Highly recommend this company! Added Bonus: My 5 year old son LOVES construction vehicles and Jim and his crew were so kind and friendly towards him during every encounter.
