"Justin was great to work with! He was thorough and very detailed in both his inspection and summary paperwork. Furthermore, he identified some lackluster aspects of the installation a different company had performed. He took the time to call the manufacturer to confirm the installation didn't meet their specifications. Then called the installation company to get the ball rolling on fixing the issues he identified. He truly went above and beyond - thank you, Justin!"

"Very good communication, they text when they were on the way and even got here early. Technician was friendly and knowledgeable, and addressed our concern immediately. Although it was a short visit I am extremely satisfied with the result. I have been using chimney mechanix for over six years and will continue my patronage indefinitely."

"We had hail damage on a 1 year old roof. H & S staff helped me pick out a better color shingle for our home - I love the color. We also had new landscaping. The workers had a system with a moveable scrap container that was able to catch the old scrap shingles without dumping them on the landscaping or driving over it. All-in-all we were extremely happy with the work and especially that it was a one-day project that included a very thorough clean up."

"This job was done because of hail damage in my area. SPS installed a completely new roof for our house and our shed. They also opened the soffits and increased the venitlation. SPS provided a good quote, worked very well with the insurance company and made the entire installation and installation process easy. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job on schedule and budget. Contacting them has been easy and they stand by their work.
It has been a few months since the roof was installed. During the first rain storm, we experienced leaking around a vent. SPS came out and fixed it and the damage to the wall immediately. Now that it's winter, we have had 2 more leaks appear (one in the front and one in the back of the house). Both are minor damages along the outer walls. SPS has come out without complaint to investigate these leaks as well. So far, SPS believes they are due to the ice damming from the slush storm we had earlier in the winter (we never had leaks with the previous roof during storms). I will agree that we have a fair amount of ice damning in the gutters and on the lower portion of the roof. However, we had this with the previous roof as well and never had leaks. Due to the leaks, I am unable to provide SPS with an A. I am happy with their service, but I am very dissatisfied with the leak issues we have experienced.
"

"We were warned about how expensive the Chimney Guy is, but heard they were good. To sum up, they used and quot;alarmistand quot; sales pitch to talk us into way more work than was needed, did decent masonry work, and way overcharged us. Should have gone with Radke (younger and harder worker, not old, established, and losing the edge that made them a top pick).
Pros:
1. The masonry work was excellent, and the workers (one of them his son) were very professional, polite, and easy to talk to.
2. The work was completed
3. The workers returned about 3 times to complete the job.
Cons:
1. the initial chimney cap looked cheap and amateurish...and flat out bad. We had to push them to get one that looked almost as good as the chimney; shame on them for even putting the ugly set up in the first place
2. We had to pester Mark (the owner) several times to find out when they were going to actually start the job
3. Mark made several promises for the things they were going to do. We tried to get these things detailed in the quote several times; however, the quote was very generic and they wouldn't provide one with more details. We put these in an email to Mark to which he responded again with the generic quote.
4. On the first day, Mark made several surprising/unprofessional comments about how we were changing scope of the project and making him do extra work and and quot;running aroundand quot;. The job started on a Tuesday and was supposed to complete by Friday. part of the job turned out to be more than they anticipated (rock removal), but mark didn't show on Thursday or Friday, and acted surprised when we called and pushed him to attempt to finish the job by the agreed-to time. You'd think a $15,000 job would be a priority, but he left his crew short-handed and would have left the roof open had we not pushed hard.
5. In the initial agreement Mark lead us to believe our fireplace doors would be powder coated by a pro. Then we found out he spraypainted with heat-paint you can buy at FleetFarm.
6. Mark stated repeatedly that the majority of the work would be in removal/repair of rotted roof / roof rafters. No work was done on the rafters (they turned out to be ok), so we expected a significant decrease in the price. We had to remind them of the difference and the bill was only reduced $300.
"

"Called and left message for them. They called back within hours and made appointment for next morning. Showed up right on time and after viewing damaged area gave me estimate for job which they said they could do now. Talented, professional, and personable, they got to work and in about 4-5 hours had the job done. They noticed a shingle on the 2nd floor that had come loose and since my days of climbing ladders are over they were kind enough to run one of their ladders up and repair the shingle as well. Cleaned the work area well. Having hired contractors over the years, it was a far better experience than I had expected.
"

"Andiry came out a couple of times. I finally decided to do concrete (I had been debating on whether to replace with landscaping blocks). its about 40 feet long, 3 feet wide, needed to be pitched correctly, and the old walkway had to come out. Andiry came out on a Saturday (on time) to write the contract, and started work 2 days later. It was done 5 days later. It looks great, and the work site was cleaned up. there is a bit of a language barrier, but it's easy to work through.
"
