While some others from this list either quoted a price for the work over the phone without even seeing the job, only one other contractor came and provided a quote. However Elite Piping was significantly different, as they pointed out that due to age, there may be problems with the pipes leading to the sink and the job could be move complicated, which it turned out to be. We told them we had picked out a vanity, but upon removal of the old unit, they told us that the one we chose would not be practical and suggested anther style.. They even took us to the supplier, picked up and delivered the new vanity and necessary accessories. No one has ever done that. They finished the job same day. By what they did , the ended up saving us a lot of money."

"All went very well. Plumbing is from the 1930's and changing the washers is very difficult. She worked diligently with the old plumbing and got the job done. I believe most plumbers would complain and want to rip out the plumbing that is recessed into the wall making the job a monumental task and extremely expensive."

"They came out on a weekend and we're our saving grace during one of the most frustrating experiences we've had in this house. We couldn't use any plumbing without flooding the basement with sewage, it was early stay at home days, and we felt like we would go mad. They showed up and gave us an price for replacing the broken pipe, and set in to work. They worked for the entire weekend essentially, staying extremely late at night and showing up early the next morning, and at one point driving far out at night to get supplies since their usual local place was closed (again, quarantine time) . The reason it took so long was because after opening up the floor to get to the end of the pipe to replace it they found more damaged pipes, and replaced those as well. By the end of it they had spent the entire weekend on a job they expected to only last an afternoon, had charged us not nearly enough for the amount of work they did, and fixed a leaking bidet we had for free for good measure. They also advised us to do camera scan to look for any other problems, which they couldn't do until the water drained out, and even did an initial mop of the basement (which, remember, sewage flooding). I'm honestly half convinced these people are magic helpful brownies or something, it's unreal how helpful they were! Somehow our drier which has not succeeded in drying clothes for over a year has started working in a single cycle since they left, despite the fact they didn't even do anything with it, and in fact specifically said they don't do driers and offered to recommend someone else when we mentioned it. Suffice to say, I cannot recommend them highly enough"

"Realized my boiler was leaking.......a very stressful thing to happen as we are entering the colder months. Consulted Home Advisor and was connected with On time Heating and Piping. I explained to Matthew I would need a new boiler. He went a step further and offered to replace and reconnect my basement heating loop and pump. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was correct that may not have been apart the work he was contracted to perform; such as reconfiguring my water main to one switch while he was installing my filter. "When I got into the tub for a shower Sunday afternoon, the drain was clogged. My plumber's helper didn't clear it. Called Bob at Herber; he said he'd call with an appointment Monday morning. Water went down some overnight, but was still sitting in the bottom of the tub. True to his word, Monday morning Bob called; he'd have someone here before 9. Mike arrived around 8:30. He couldn't snake it out from the tub as there are mechanical parts that open and close the drain in the way. Went down to the basement, disconnected the trap and elbow there; determined the clog was in the old (from 1953) galvanized drain pipe. When he snaked that out, the clog was at the T-junction with the vent pipe to the roof just where he suspected. I'd never had that snaked out, but that tub drain had always been slow; maybe that had accumulated from the original owners. Part of the threaded end of the old galvanized pipe cracked off (rusted) so Mike had to fabricate and replace the trap, elbow and connections to the tub drain. Once he was satisfied, he asked me to let the water run in the tub to make sure there were no leaks. Initial test was good, so "let it run for a full minute". Did that and still good. Have to say that tub drain is vastly different now. Previously if you turned on the tap full-force, the tub would fill up even when the drain was "open". Now it gurgles away happily and water does not accumulate. Glad I had that done."
